So much could be said for the efficiency and usefulness of the silent appraiser, could it not? To clarify: Zevran had a habit, at times, of compulsively drawing attention to himself; but he had also been trained as a spy and an assassin, a job for which subtlety and silence were necessities. Whether or not he had been the best assassin... Well, that was up for a great deal of debate. Zevran himself would play the darkspawn's advocate on his own case, since outright lying did not often endear himself to others.

The trouble was, Zevran operated best when he had a clear missive. Whether or not he enjoyed being one of the Crows' dogs--lower than a dog, even; and no, truthfully, he did not enjoy it--was irrelevant. He was accustomed to following orders, to carrying out the tasks others had set for him. He was not accustomed to deciding on those tasks on his own, not even in Ferelden; he might assist the Grey Warden here and there with a difficult decision, simply making his voice and his opinion heard, but that was unusual in and of ( ... )

Link took quickly to checking the availability of said empty rooms here and there, if not simply for curiosity's sake. His logic was based simply on the idea that if he was lucky, perhaps those who sought isolation would have something in need of isolation-- something he could report back to Holmes, or even not. It really did not matter much to the boy in the long run; he was much more interested in finding an interesting person than spying on them.

This time, however, a poke of his head into a quiet room produced unexpected results. The sight of somebody actually in there was surprising enough that he withdrew quickly, though more out of habit than anything else. Quickly, he ran over what he had seen in those brief seconds; someone in what looked like armour, at least? And --he felt almost hopeful, excited-- pointed ears, unless his eyes deceived him. Surely there might be another Hylian in the caravan somewhere? Unable to resist a closer look, he peered around the doorframe a second time ( ... )

If Zevran had been introduced to a soap opera--something Healer House had mentioned at one point, he believed, and a concept which he was only just now beginning to grasp--then his interest could not have been more riveted on the device in front of him. It certainly made it easy to determine who was harmless; who was not worth the wasted effort; who was a fool and who was merely behaving foolishly; and who was worth courting in terms of making alliances that could prove valuable in the future. This was the way Zevran's mind worked, at least on the days when he decided he wanted to remain alive. It varied. Everyone had his moods, did they not?

But at the same time, eavesdropping on conversations was a wicked, delightful pastime which everyone could enjoy; spy or no, dirty knife-ear or no... It was universal, something that could bring everyone together ( ... )

He almost jumped at the sudden addressing of his presence, despite having no solid reason not to expect one. Immediately, he felt a little embarrassed of his skittishness-- was he really so alert in this environment that he was allowing himself to overreact? Either way, it really wasn't polite to stay hidden after being spoken to, so he withdrew from the doorframe and entered, slowly but without hesitance ( ... )

Yuusei had seated himself rather comfortably in one of the couches in the lobby on Level 2, looking a little pensive as he put his deck box out and emptied it into the palm of his hand, setting it off to the side and silently going through his cards. They are a somewhat welcome reminder of home, and basically the only thing he had on his person when coming here--his duel disk having been rendered useless by the strange world, the reason is something he can't even begin to fathom. Waves disrupting the signals to Solid Vision? Maybe a too-hard fall?

Holding a card up in his hand, he took a long look at it, eyes lingering on the picture as he then placed it down and picked up another card. The shuffling of his deck was done in complete silence. Flicking the card in the wan light of the caravan, he placed it down next to the first one and continued moving through his deck. He didn't really notice anyone passing through the room, too far inside of his memories. Between Rudger's mentionings of Zero Reverse and the fact that he wasn't out ( ... )

Unbeknown to Yuusei, there was a small child watching this development from behind one of the couches farther back from him. Though admittedly, most of Link's initial interest had been piqued by Yuusei's bizarre hair and facial markings, most of his attention had since then shifted to the (cards?) the young man was shuffling through. Link had never seen anything like them before, and quite honestly wanted to see them from a closer view.

This was what prompted him to approach slowly, until he was able to peer around Yuusei's couch to stare, a little wide-eyed with his wonder. It had not yet registered that being watched so intently by a child may have been a little perturbing.

[OOC: it was the worst day ever 8|]

Yuusei blinked a bit as he felt the gaze settling on him from his place on the couch. Turning his head a bit, he caught a glimpse of green out of the corner of his eyes and raised one brow. He wasn't startled, though his previous thoughts now scattered to the far corners of his mind--this was somewhat of a welcome break. Setting down another card, he spoke, "You know, it's easier to see if you come around." He was relatively used to younger kids, Rally having been quite a bit of practice, followed by Rua, who was a lot more lively than his twin sister.

Setting down his deck, he splayed out the cards in a neat row, overlapping one another in their various hues of white, orange, purple, and green, some yellow.

Oh. Whoops. He almost squeaked when his cover was blown, but instead of withdrawing he pretended as though this had been his intention all along. Trying a curious expression, he slid out from behind the furniture to lean over the armrest. He offered a small wave as means of "hello", though it was fairly obvious at this point that his attention was being grabbed much more by the colourful cards.

He wondered what exactly they were for. They looked like pictographs to him, but he could see writing on them in a strange, squiggly alphabet. Though he was fully expecting it to be the case, he could not help but be a little disappointed that it was not the writing of Hylian, nor a language he had ever seen before.

Link is watching him from a slight distance away, scrutinizing that cellphone as if it were an explosive device. He's not quite sure what to think of it yet, or if it is a wise decision to come closer. He is a little more partial to positivity, however, when music starts to play form it-- clearly, this is a magical device of some sort...

But for now, he just stares, peering from behind the nearest corner.

Nodoka's energies had been spent in her attempts to gather information on the caravan passengers of late. Running up and down halls, attempting to work up the courage to knock on doors, write down names, powers - it was all quite a lot for the girl. Some of the time she wondered to herself why on earth she even bothered attempting to work up all these things; why she was rushing around and making herself tired. But she knew the work was something important, and she had promised to help - she could never break a promise. Shifting her backpack to her shoulders, Nodoka decided it was time for a break; she was just tired ( ... )

He had only just turned a corner, having not heard another person nearby, when he made contact with a torso and promptly tumbled backwards. Sprawled on his back and bewildered, he blinked to clear his vision of stars, until he could discern what was definitely a teenaged girl who had apparently fallen on top of him. He was dazed enough to lie there for a moment as well, thoroughly confused by what exactly had even occurred.

He was grateful for the extra space once she rose again, however, and he followed, rubbing his head that had made unpleasant contact with the floor. Still, it wasn't anything that bad, so he simply waved one hand in disorientation, hoping it would get the general message across while he tried to clear his head.
