The reminder on the network that there was someone here who could bake desserts had gotten Austria in the mood for something sweet. The nation had quite the sweet tooth and liked to indulge whenever he was given the opportunity. Unfortunately, when he had finally located the kitchen, it was empty of the man he had spoken to over the network. And now the desire had turned into a serious craving.

Oh well. Austria sighed and began looking through the cabinets. He was not a master baker himself, but he had found that his own cooking was certainly adequate. And he could always have that Ronove person make him a proper strudel later. For now he was searching through the cabinets, making sure to get out all the ingredients and supplies he would need to make a Scwarzalder Kirschtorte. He had all the bowls and such out, and he was currently digging around in search of the various ingredients, muttering what he needed to himself. His focus meant, unfortunately, that he was unlikely to notice Cassie, at least until she called attention to

Eventually, a guy had to get hungry, especially working up a sweat exploring. And Nero--despite everything--could still be called a growing boy. Had to take in a certain amount of calories even if he was lying around doing nothing, which he wasn't, not by a long shot; in some ways, this place was keeping him busier than Fortuna.

Without the demon infestation problem, anyway. Back in the old days, when everything was a little more peaceful--and whole lot more boring.

Where there was a kitchen, and all these people, there was bound to be somebody making food. Nero wasn't about to whip anything together for himself unless he absolutely had to. But it was lunchtime and his stomach was grumbling and he'd seen a couple posts on that junogam network about people heading to the kitchen to make things. And he had a map that pointed right there. It was easy as pie--or easier (Sometimes pie wasn't all that easy.)

Needless to say, Nero was gonna be lurking this place. Something smelled good, and chances were, there might be a little too much ( ... )

It was times like this that Cassie missed having someone like Jarvis around. His experience of looking after superheroes - and Uncle Stark - for so long had meant there was always a plate or tin of something within easy reach. Then again, it was only the first day. Maybe someone would be doing the same here once everyone was settled in.

She felt a little guilty for thinking that, but a girl could dream.

Plus, someone was here. She peered up at the man currently bustling around from the doorway, and tried to decide whether it was a good idea to announce herself before trying to get up onto the counter.

Probably a good idea. "He- whoa!" A quick jump to the side, and Nero's boot missed her by inches. Not that she'd be that easily hurt if trodden on; being small had its advantages. But it didn't mean she'd enjoy it. "Watch it!"

There were certain things that could generally break Austria's concentration. Someone simply coming into the room was not one of them, but shouting (even if it was rather small sounding) was. He looked up from the bowl where he was mixing the dry ingredients together, blinking when he saw Nero in the doorway. He certainly sounded nothing like the shout that had gotten his attention. "I beg your pardon, did you say something?" He could just be hearing things after all, goodness knows being here was nearly enough to make him question his sanity.
