Eventually, a guy had to check out the place he was gonna be staying for a whikle, figuring out all the angles, getting the lay of the land. Having a map was good and all, but there was stuff you couldn't see in a floor plan, stuff you had to get a feel for yourself or else you'd find yourself with your back against the wall getting your ass handed to you by somebody who just wasn't that good, who didn't deserve it. All because you got sloppy.

Nero wasn't riding this crazy tower out of this crazy little town because he had any kind of inclination to do what this Cid guy was saying. He didn't take orders, not even from people he had reason to respect, and he sure as hell wasn't taking orders from some crazy bastard with an even crazier mustache. That nickname Cid gave him didn't help improve Nero's mood, either. As long as nobody else saw that crap, maybe, just maybe, he'd forgive the creep. But it wasn't too likely. He was pissed about that one. He was taking it personallyBut he could work with this. It wasn't half bad. There was ( ... )

Before she knew it another short while had passed and now the lobby was starting to fill up with people in her similar situation. She scanned the crowd for any familiar faces but couldn't name a single person she'd ever seen before. The Junogam was helpful for networking but she only only new names, not faces. Most everyone looked to be humans, no outstanding mutant qualities like her except... Over towards the Grand Staircase she picked out one person with white hair and what looked to be a deformed arm? Well that sounded familiar, she couldn't think of anyone else she'd spoken with who had an 'altered' arm.

Without a second thought Nill trotted right over, hopefully this was Nero and she wasn't about to make an idiot of herself. Nero? It was hard not to surprise people sometimes when you couldn't say hello, instead she gently tugged on his sleeve. Nill knew staring was rather rude, shed gotten plenty of them, but it was hard to not look curiously at his vibrant blue and red arm. It wasn't grotesque in her mind, but it was simply a ( ... )

When caught in a large crowd, Nero usually did what any not crazy person would do, given the whole deal with his arm--and how it was a fucking demon arm, and anyone who wasn't blind could see there was something messed up there. He hid it.

Used to keep it in a sling, pretend he'd been hurt--which was kinda true, actually--so nobody'd know about it, nobody'd suspect anything. But he didn't have the sling here and besides, he didn't know what he was gonna come up against. There wasn't anybody here he could trust--well, okay, maybe one or two of 'em, but the vast majority--and he was especially looking forward to maybe having some words with that obnoxious Cid Amon guy. So for now, he was keeping that arm out now, a totally different strategy, so if anybody thought they wanted to mess with him, they could take one look and they could think again.

But having somebody come up to him and tug at his sleeve while he was parading around looking half guy, half circus freak? Now that wasn't something he expected.

His first instinct? ( ... )

The girl flinched at first, sensing almost immediately she'd caught him on edge. It was kind of like catching Heine or any of her friends with their guard up, she should have known better. She relaxed a moment later when nothing happened, brows furrowed until he made the comment about the 'things' she assumed were her wings. It was Nero after all, she clapped her hands together excitedly, wings perking right up and just beaming.

She couldn't help but still be curious about the arm though, it was fascinating and Nill wanted to know what kind of accident could lead to something like that. It's not that she meant to be rude but the girl was a bit limited in questions she could easily convey. She pointed and tilted her head as if to ask if it hurt, because it certainly looked painful.

There was only so much that Walter could put up with regarding the people outside before even he was overwhelmed. He'd promised Shirley that he'd try to get along with the others, but considering that there was a lot of people here that he didn't trust fully -- along with a few he'd even argued with over the Network -- the Ferines had a right to be wary.

Ducking into the lobby of this caravan, Walter had to admit that their mysterious kidnapper/benefactor, Cid Amon, had at least some taste -- it looked infinitely nicer than some of the things he'd seen in Orerines settlements across the Legacy. He might have even liked the designs, though he was definitely not going to be saying anything about it at the moment.

Sighing, he placed a hand against his forehead to try and steady himself, regain his equilibrium. At least it was quiet enough that he wouldn't be bothered.

Without being able to see faces and only going by names, Nill had no idea who anyone milling about in the lobby. Too shy to really approach anyone, they all seemed preoccupied anyways, she stood idly by unsure where to go. It wasn't until she was approached by someone, well, not approached but he came to stand just a short ways away that she finally gathered up the courage to try and get help.

She was quiet, wary almost, he seemed in pain? Or just tired. Nill stepped up in front of Walter, putting a hand on her forehead with a questioning look as if to ask of he was ok.

"...?" Walter paused, gulping down a curse -- so much for not being bothered. At least this one had the sense to not say anything and be quiet, if the fact that it took him a while to notice her was any indication. He turned to Nill, pausing to stare back for a few seconds -- were those wings on her back?

Maybe it really was the afterlife if there were angels running about the area. Though he highly doubted that was the case after coming across Shirley a few hours earlier. Still, what was he supposed to say now?

He sighed, looking at Nill with a sort of tired expression. "What do you want?"

Maybe this had been a mistake, he seemed to be rather cold, or maybe he just didn't quite understand what she asked silently. Nill took a shy step backwards, noticing the stares, she got those quite a bit and it was always better to pretend you didn't notice them.

Wringing her hands behind her back a bit nervously she was rather unsure waht to do. Trying again, Nill pointed to where Walter had been holding his head, brows furrowed trying to ask if he was ok.

If it was one thing that Trish hated, it was being cramped in a tiny area. She hadn't bothered staying in hers long enough to meet her roommate and hell if she was bothered enough to find out.

She had scouted the area long enough and was heading back up to her room when she caught sight of Nill and the grand staircase.

"You lost, sweetie?" She asked, because com'on the girl looked adorable.

Nill was a bit too shy to approach anyone here, they were all unfamiliar and well... A bit intimidating. She stood looking about off to the side of the Lobby. She silently sighed with relief as the woman approached her, someone to get direction from! Nill nodded enthusiastically, hopelessly lost, but she felt as I the woman had a familiar air- maybe she'd spoken to on the network?

yes, lost! the woman was a bit taller than herself, blonde and very pretty. She only glanced away as she noticed the dull roar of the lobby was steadily growing louder, seems still more were boarding.

Souji, too, was taking a look about the place himself. It was much larger than on-screen layouts had demonstrated, and even he was beginning to feel overwhelmed himself. This Caravan, Grandore sitting just outside -- this place was huge. Souji was always aware of how small humanity is as compared to everything else out there, but he had never felt it as much as he did now. For Grandore to carry everyone -- was it along the same lines as a human carrying around a bunch of tiny insects? He had to wonder what the value of human life was to big guys like him ( ... )

As she milled about idly, Nill could really only wonder how long it must have taken to build such a massive structure like the Caravan. It was curious that something like was ready to go for Mister Amon to pick up, maybe an event like this had happened before.

Mind wandering a bit, it took only a second for the voice to grab her attention. He seemed to be friendly, not someone familiar but not intimidating either. To his question Nill nodded vigorously, needing about as much help as she could get right now.

Yosuke was feeling a little overwhelmed, himself. Waking up in Sleepywoods had been weird enough, but actually boarding this gigantic caravan on top of, well--a real honest-to-goodness giant was an entirely different feeling somehow. He hadn't seen any of his friends around yet, and was keeping an eye out for them after getting Souji's message as well as trying to figure out which way he needed to go to get to his room...kind of a lot to take in all at once. He and his roommate had split up for a while after grabbing a bite to eat, but he figured he could message him if he really got lost.

After another moment he spotted a familiar face, and he jogged up to Souji, only noticing the young girl he was speaking to after he'd clapped his friend on the shoulder. "Hey, partner," he said quickly before smiling at the girl, glancing between them. "Sorry, was I interrupting something?"

"Hey, Yosuke." He turns to smile at his friend. "I'm glad you caught up. You're not interrupting anything. I was just trying to help this young lady."

She must be shy, he thinks, because she has yet to utter a word. It was sort of cute in a way, so he speaks to her again, as though to prompt a response from her. "I'm Souji Seta, and this is my friend, Yosuke Hanamura. He and I are from the same world. What about you?"

Iris certainly felt out of place; her earlier encounter with Mr. Edgeworth - who had apparently not recognized her - left her feeling off balance and hesitant. Her shrine clothes made her feel even more out of place. There were people who were more outlandishly dressed than she was, but plenty of people in what she considered more "normal" clothes ( ... )

It seems a lot of people were having equally pleasant experiences with the villagers, friendly and generous almost to a fault. Nill had wandered by the shops after vising Heine and had been scooped up by female shopkeepers battling to see who could dress the little angel the cutest. They'd sent her on her way with a small sling bag and a few articles to keep her for part of the journey.

Nill looked up at the woman, not too much taller than she, when she spoke. She had a calm, gentle feel about her that it almost made her instantly feel relaxed, but there also seemed to be a slight sadness to her? Nill nodded slowly, fiddling with the Junogam a bit until it pulled up her room assignment, N-505, Nill and Emma Pillsbury. She turned the screen around to show Iris, pointing especially to the 'N-505' and 'Nill ( ... )

Iris peered at the screen when Nill showed it to her, noting the room and name as she wondered whether the girl was unable to speak or simply shier than anyone Iris had ever met before. In the end it was the same thing, so she simply straightened (not that she'd had to bend over far in the first place) with a nod. "Nice to meet you, Nill. My name's Iris ( ... )

The girl smiled and gave a small 'nice to meet you too' bow of the head. She followed Iris' gaze to the stairs, looking back to the Junogam for a moment and then nodding. Those should be the right stairs, well, they were the only Grand Staircase she'd ever seen before. She moved towards the stairs just slowly enough to agree on checking it out.

At the comment about her clothes Nill chuckled silently, nodding again in agreement. She tugged at her dress and then waved a hand in front of her nose as if it smelled bad to say: 'Would get smelly if worn everyday.'
