It has taken 6 months, but I am starting to get back to where I was when I started this dumb job and stopped attending ballet classes. did whole advanced foundation barre. Regaining more control & stability.

Did intermediate barre only up to ronde de jambe a terre. Legs are quite sore because I went to a ball with vonstrassburg last night- great night, but the weather was very hot. And they did Madam Cecelia's allemande as a progressive dance- I do not hug people who i don't know, especially on a very hot night! Icky!

Started back on ballet exercises tonight- did advanced foundation barre exercises up to grande battement, although I woossed on the ones where you are supposed to do them on a flat foot & then on demi-pointe- just did them all on flat instead, as my ankles didn't feel strong enough for all of the demi-pointe yet.

Oh yeah, if boys want to come to our ballerina party they have to wear tights. Or a tutu. Yeah, I think that they should wear tutus too. Yeah.

I found Gaynor Mindon pointe shoes for $66US (+ postage of course). And they cost $230 here! That is so expensive! However, $66US is going to work out at not that much more than Blochs (about $85Aus), and the Gaynors last 3-5 times longer than the Blochs. Had an excellent ballet class, got 2 compliments from my teacher, and 1 from the head of the studio. I did a fantastic balance en releve after the petite battements, if I may say so myself. I've reached a point where it is all coming together, although my pitiful plie and my left/right dyslexia are still holding me back. And my arches aren't very ( Read more... )
