1. Cleaning Day: It's Cleaning Day in the Chinese Calendar, so I cleaned, I dusted my bookcase which through a miracle paralleling immaculate birth, has collected DUST BUNNIES since I've cleaned it last month. A thin layer is understandable, but DUST BUNNIES? In a month? Somehow dust got into my hair even though I'm a head taller than my ( Read more... )

It makes me wonder why anyone goes to VTech now. And it disturbs me especially that this happened in public. I know I have no right to criticize the way China does things, but things like this are unacceptable to me in any society.

I believe everyone can criticize USA for having such a high child mortality rate in spite of being a rich democracy, and I think everyone can criticize the current ruling party of China of actively abusing human rights, and neglecting its social problems (like AIDs, that went unaddressed for decades, worse when whole villages were stricken after selling blood).

Ditto on what ghostangel said about V Tech. How are they still getting enrollment?

I'm a little confused, though. It's Chinese men who are killing Chinese women -- of which there are already far too few due to the retarted One Child policy -- because they won't marry/go out with them? My God.

Yeah, I guess people here don't think like that, since gender equality is becoming more and more a reality. You're right, though. From everything I've heard, China (as well as most Asian countries) is extremely sexist. And since boys mean everything, they have all the power, they can do whatever they want, and women rank somewhere below gold fish. God. I know I sid that last time, but it's definitely worth saying again.

I know what you mean about dust. I don't know how the heck it accumulates so quickly!

OK, not Virginia Tech's fault but I've gotta wonder why anyone would go there anymore.
