Eclipse, Demon Diary.

Aug 21, 2006 23:39

Eclipse made his way into the Sorting Room, a dragon-like being flanking him. One might mistakenly assume the man to be Japanese based on his appearance - black hair, dark eyes, and attire that consisted of what looked like a plain rust-coloured kimono over a black linen kosode. He dismissed the large winged creature with a telepathic command, and ( Read more... )

"You serve a Demon Lord, too? I do as well, although I am his betrothed as well as servant. I have only seen a few other demons here; these halls are practically infested by humans. But I have not heard of this Lord Raenef V. We must come from different worlds."

At the mere mention of being surrounded by humans, and knowing he'd be unable to do much of anything about it, his eyes nearly watered. "Most likely we do, if you're unfamiliar with my Master's name. He is known to all Demonkind in my world."

It was difficult to look away from Wolfram. Flaxen hair, fair features, those wide, bright eyes... so strikingly similar to a slightly more masculine Raenef. Even their heights had to be very close. Feeling more miserable than before, Eclipse stared back down at the floor.

"I am trying to form a Demonic Defense League, in order to deal with the massive prejudice and harassment our kind face in this school. But recent events," Wolfram frowned as he thought of Yuuri, "has placed me off-schedule."

He thought to himself, and made a decision. "As a demon, you should definitely be sorted into Hufflepuff. That is by far the best House. But Slytherin is second best, I suppose; it has a demon for Head of House and Ryuuji-Sama is its Prefect."

A fellow Demon betrothed to a Demon Lord would make him a... prince consort, was it? Whatever the title of the rank, it was quite likely above Eclipse's own, and so he bowed respectfully before Wolfram. "Thank you for your vote, Lord."

He held the bow for a few moments before standing straight, this time meeting Wolfram's eyes. "Demons are harassed here? Are we not allowed to show others their place?"

Hello, your demon-lordship. I'm Laura.

I liked your answers for Hufflepuff; that's my House. Could you tell me a bit about this war you mentioned?

"The Hangma War. Heaven's creatures, the beings humans commonly think of as 'gods' because they don't know better, they fought against us." His tone was strangely impassive. "We attained victory... of a sort. At the end, a group of those creatures sacrificed their lives in order to curse my former Master. It soon claimed his life." He seemed unaware that he'd stopped speaking, his expression distant.

I think I see. If it helps any, there's far too many beings at Hogwarts with godlike attributes of one sort or another for any one to demand our worship.

Was that a dragon with you when you came in just now?

I'm not much interested in weaponry, and I'll give some thought to the wealth, but...what kind of food are you offering? It's an excellent choice for a bribe offer, by the by, because the Sorting Hat seems to like food bribes, and the Hat is the one you really need to sell on letting you in here.

As much as he disliked the thought of being surrounded by humans, he liked the thought of 'gods' wandering around even less. But so long as they didn't go out of their way to trouble him...

"Dragon? That may be what they're called here." The crusader must have really caught everyone's attention. Perhaps he should have offered them as bribes.

"Any kind of food you'd want, assuming the ingredients are available to me. Our worlds aren't so different in that area, at least, from what I've found."

Rumpleteazer regards the man with suspicion. On one paw, he sounds like Coricopat and Macavity mixed together. On the other, food sounds terribly good.

'You evil?'

He stared down at the talking cat, curiously unfazed. "I'm a Demon. We're not meant to be very nice."

'Teazer considers his answer. 'Why not? Do you have a plan of revenge against somebody?'

"No, not currently. Nearly all of my time is spent tutoring my ward, when he is... available."

Crowley laughed at the answer to the Slytherin question, but was unsure what to make of the applicant. So, he stood in the corner with his arms crossed over his chest and waited to see what would happen.

((Eclipse wouldn't normally approach others on his own just to be like "Hi take a bribe plz!", bu~ut this is a sorting and all. Did you want Crowley to be left alone for a while on purpose or should Eclipse harass him?))

((However you want to play it is fine with me. If Eclipse doesn't come over then Crowley will just jump into a conversation somewhere on down the thread.))

Eclipse figured he was supposed to be making an effort to interact and converse with others, no matter how unpleasant he might find it, and so he approached Crowley. He became less hesitant when he realised he wasn't dealing with a human. "The offerings aren't to your liking?"

"Medieval weaponry. Items I've 'collected' from trespassing humans over the years. Swords, axes, spears, daggers, staffs... some are surprisingly well crafted. But I've no use for them."

The man seemed mortal enough. More importantly, he obviously wasn't a demon of any kind, and so Eclipse wasn't obligated to take his question seriously, nor answer honestly. "The usual. Murder, choas, mayhem. I make meals of humans and serve them to my Master. Green eyes in particular are considered a delicacy."
