Eclipse, Demon Diary.

Aug 21, 2006 23:39

Eclipse made his way into the Sorting Room, a dragon-like being flanking him. One might mistakenly assume the man to be Japanese based on his appearance - black hair, dark eyes, and attire that consisted of what looked like a plain rust-coloured kimono over a black linen kosode. He dismissed the large winged creature with a telepathic command, and ( Read more... )

"Medieval weaponry. Items I've 'collected' from trespassing humans over the years. Swords, axes, spears, daggers, staffs... some are surprisingly well crafted. But I've no use for them."

The man seemed mortal enough. More importantly, he obviously wasn't a demon of any kind, and so Eclipse wasn't obligated to take his question seriously, nor answer honestly. "The usual. Murder, choas, mayhem. I make meals of humans and serve them to my Master. Green eyes in particular are considered a delicacy."

"I wouldn't know, I'm not familiar with the lifestyle of pirates," he said indifferently. It was probably also a lie. "And I don't mind going without."

Powers probably beyond your comprehension. Sighing wearily, he decided to elaborate without actually answering the question. "Demons of the world I'm from tend to have individualistic, innate power and abilities. They may vary from one Demon to the next. There are several categories of magic that one may master over their lifetime, though mastery does not necessarily equal greater power."

So much for getting out of answering. There was no point in lying, since the truth may sound unbelievable enough. "Bend it, rend it, melt it, shatter it, force it to implode, change specific properties of it, turn it into something else completely. There is virtually no limit to the possibilities, depending on the strength of the Demon's magic. Even the weakest Demon would outclass the strongest human, however."

((It's amusing, at least! XD And he can get away with it, much to Eclipse's dismay.))

If Eclipse had believed a word of it, he would have been sufficiently inspired to perform a live demonstration, but as he didn't for one moment doubt demonkind's superiority*, he remained impassive. "If you say so."

The Demon Lord's brattish fiance had been right after all. Demons weren't shown proper respect at the school. Surely there existed ways to fix that, though...

*While that was true, in actuality the no-kill rule decided the outcome for him. Becoming a buttery snack food by way of attempting to end the existence of a student wasn't high on his list of priorities that day.

Instead of provoking him, as the man must have been aiming for, the meaningless babble was having precisely the opposite effect on the demon. He reached an entirely new level of apathy, fast approaching the point of being comatose with how much he didn't care. "Never before have I been privy to such profound wit and wisdom."
