Application for Kuronue (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Oct 03, 2009 01:32

Startled profanity announced Kuronue's appearance in the sorting room. Twisting at the waist and peaking over his shoulder to look around rather warily, as well as curiously, he let loose another mumbled tangle of words that may or may not have made much sense to anyone who was close enough to hear. He wasn't quite sure what he'd said himself he ( Read more... )

After reading Kurone's answer to the 4th question, Keenan grinned. At the final one, he raised an eyebrow, then cackled with glee and eyed the... being... before him.

"I would totally take you up on that, if I were into guys. ...I assume you're a guy, posture thing. In any event, your thoughts on the Dumbles question intrigues me, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Party person much?"

Amused, a grin breaks onto his lips. "I assure you I am certainly male."

His old vest, held together with some scraps of leather and other pieces he'd managed to scrounge up couldn't have hid a pair of breasts if it tried. Though it would be interesting.

"My newsletter?" He chuckles. "Oh, you're a witty one aren't you."

"I try to stay witty, yeah. Keep the old armor polished," he says, without a trace of irony. "When it works, it's enough rapport to bounce a slur - or a particle beam, for that matter."

He didn't know what the hell a particle beam was but he still laughed anyway. "It makes life interesting, for sure. I've talked my way out of capture many a time." He sweeps a hand, gesturing this 'many a time' grandly.

"And into other things." His eyes sparkle.

Amaterasu had been learning that very few of the demon residents of Hogwarts were the variety she had to concern herself with - she had been particularly surprised by Kuronue's kitsune friend turning out to be the sort of tree hugger she approved of, and Kusuriyuri had only very politely read her fortune, not caused any mischief - but new arrivals were an entirely different story. Strictly speaking, she could smell the demon a ways away, but it was the more intangible aspects of his being that first alerted her to his presence in the Sorting Room.

That led to Kuronue being greeted by a bristling white wolf with her teeth bared in warning. Of course, it was not her teeth a demon needed to worry about. A trail of blooming flora followed wherever she stepped, sprouting up from the stone floor and hinting at her true identity.

Kuronue's first reaction upon seeing a snarling wolf was to kill it. However, because he's in a place he doesn't quite understand, he decided to merely narrow his eyes at her, doing his own equivalent to bristling.

It would have been amusing if it didn't remind of too many things all at once. That and having a wolf snarl at you generally wasn't a great position to be in.

He was very little like the other demon residents. While he had a sense of humour, and could be nice when he liked, he was still a demon to the core, and embraced it.

((Handwaved incident with Smaug okayed by his player, of course.))

After an exhilarating romp with the huge dragon within the Forbidden Forest, Pegasus decided he'd perhaps had enough adventure for one day, and headed into the castle before his new “playmate” could decide winged horse was on the menu. He was in the habit of passing by the Sorting Room during his rare trips into the castle, just in case anyone interesting happened to be there. Winged humanoids were not a new sight to Pegasus, who was himself the son of an ancient God and Gorgon, but this applicant caught his attention nonetheless. He approached the demon and gave a curious nicker, his folded wings shifting slightly in a gesture that resembled a shrug. He was more interested in the demon's own wings than in the sparkly stone he was holding, at least for the moment.

"Well look at you." Call it avian familiarity if the look on Kuronue's face was to be defined. He grinned and have Pegasus a once over, his own large leathery wings shifting behind him. "You're the first winged...er, creature I've met so far."

Such things Kurama should have come to expect. He'd come running the instant he felt the familiar youki, and now he lingered in the doorway to the sorting room, watching, trying to recall just how much time it had been since he had seen Kuronue. The real Kuronue, not some cheap, evil imitation.

He wondered if Kuronue would be able to see the years on him, the time that had passed since... that. Had Kuronue come instantly from his death, or lingered in the afterlife? Whatever time had gone by, it had done nothing to lessen Kuronue's sense of humor, at the very least.

"So free with a kiss," he managed after a while, contriving to keep his voice level, casual. "Will you ever change?"

Deciding how to react on meeting the one that you died for was...difficult. As it were, Kuronue sort of froze for a while at the voice that he remembered so very well, and turned. He kept a reasonable distance between them.

He smiled weakly at Kurama. "Not likely." His eyes dropped, and he took Kurama in. The years perhaps had changed Kurama. It made something inside ache. "It seems you have though."

"It was difficult not to," he admitted, his voice dropping near a whisper. Why, suddenly, did he feel the need to grieve again? Kuronue was here, alive, and even the cruelly reopened wounds that that Yakumo's failed attempt at usurping Reikai didn't leave such pain behind as this.He shouldn't be mourning a reunion, but celebrating it. Yet he couldn't bring himself to feel more than a fleeting sense of joy. The years suddenly seemed a heavier weight than they had before.

After a moment he said, "I missed you."

Kuronue would have like-wise been elated had he not been suspicious and confused. the other demon that smelt a lot like Kurama...

Well it wasn't hard to put two and two together and he felt...cheated, in a way. Though he knew he shouldn't.

With this in mind he made his way over to Kurama and wrapped his arms around Kurama before he changed his mind about the fleeting urge. He pulled Kurama in close and rested his cheek against Kurama's. He let himself simply be happy to have Kurama in his arms again for a moment, feeling like the time that he had to hold him was borrowed.

He give a spoken reply, he figured the hug was enough to convey how much he felt...had felt for his partner.

"You would have no qualms with killing?" Akabane asked, his voice cultured, bland enough that he could have been asking after the weather. "Or potentially burning down an office?" he added, touching the brim of his hat.

"Nope." He grinned. "The most interesting bit is mixing the two together and watching them try to get out before they all burn to death." He was pretty sure he'd done that at some point, though he couldn't remember the exact year.

He tilted his head at Akabane, finding him...interesting.

Akabane slid his hands into his pockets. "I see," he said, his voice still bland. "So, you prefer indirect methods?" His own preference was for the hunt, to feel the impact of the kill travel up his blade to his arm, to see if the enemy would help him find his limits.

"Well, sometimes." He grinned. "Sometimes, I used knives. It was...very personal." He drifted away for a bit, thinking on it. "I prefer scythes."
