Application for Kuronue (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Oct 03, 2009 01:32

Startled profanity announced Kuronue's appearance in the sorting room. Twisting at the waist and peaking over his shoulder to look around rather warily, as well as curiously, he let loose another mumbled tangle of words that may or may not have made much sense to anyone who was close enough to hear. He wasn't quite sure what he'd said himself he ( Read more... )

After reading Kurone's answer to the 4th question, Keenan grinned. At the final one, he raised an eyebrow, then cackled with glee and eyed the... being... before him.

"I would totally take you up on that, if I were into guys. ...I assume you're a guy, posture thing. In any event, your thoughts on the Dumbles question intrigues me, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Party person much?"

Amused, a grin breaks onto his lips. "I assure you I am certainly male."

His old vest, held together with some scraps of leather and other pieces he'd managed to scrounge up couldn't have hid a pair of breasts if it tried. Though it would be interesting.

"My newsletter?" He chuckles. "Oh, you're a witty one aren't you."

"I try to stay witty, yeah. Keep the old armor polished," he says, without a trace of irony. "When it works, it's enough rapport to bounce a slur - or a particle beam, for that matter."

He didn't know what the hell a particle beam was but he still laughed anyway. "It makes life interesting, for sure. I've talked my way out of capture many a time." He sweeps a hand, gesturing this 'many a time' grandly.

"And into other things." His eyes sparkle.

Keenan says, in a theatrically concerned voice, "I swear, Sara, swear to God above, that I will do nothing to you that you DON'T want me to." He cackled. "It helped that I was tellin' nuttin but the truth, heh. I call that phrase the 'Greater Rune of Pantsing for a REASON.'"

"Uh-huh." He grinned and took a step forward. He placed his hand on the kid's (kid because Kuronue was some 500 years old, not including the time he'd been dead) head and ruffled his hair. At 6'4 Kuronue is pretty damn tall, so it wasn't that hard for him to do so in an annoying way. "I could very well like you, smooth talker. You could talk me into anything."

(( *waves* If you already know Keenan's player and have cleared the action with him, disregard this note. But in Hogwarts Hocus, we tend to be strict constructionists with the no-godmodding rule, as it were. Actions that affect another character's body, whether it's tousling the hair or a smack in the face, have to be cleared with the player of the other character before they're written out. When the players are already in OOC communication, they'll often be giving one another permission behind the scenes, so you won't see the evidence in their IC comments. But if they're not in communication, using an OOC note like this one tends to work just fine. Thanks, and welcome :) ))

(( I wasn't aware that was including in godmodding, sorry about that. I read through the rules again and understand what you mean now, thank you.))

(OTOH, I am fine with it now, but do clear it later. :D)

He laughs and steps away. "Again, you're a damn cute guy, but I don't do cute guys, I do cute girls. No offense."

Then, "So then... what kinda magic you know, if any, and what do you hope to learn here?"

He snorted. Normally, he might have pressed it, but he wasn't in the mood for terrorising and the boy hadn't really offended him anyway.

"I'm not sure if what I know could be considered magic." He placed a hand to the red jewel pendant at his neck. "It's all weapon based, mostly. I think I could hypnotise someone, if I tried real hard. I haven't done that in centuries though, even before I died." He waved his hand, dismissing it.

"Perhaps it would be nice to learn how to cast illusions." He was already thinking about what pranks he could come up if he knew such magic. He nodded to Keenan. "And you?"

"Seeing if a particular... artifact," he decides to call it, "can be replicated with hocus-pocus. A bit of the old high tech. Love was my weapon. Maybe it still can be."

He found that strange and yet amusing, it showed in the way he cocked his head to the side for a moment before replying. "It's an interesting concept. I hope you figure out a way to recreate your artefact then. I'd love to see how it works."

"Righty then... Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Reason. Rank them in importance."

"Reason, Courage, Ambition and Integrity." He tilted his head a little further. He felt like a child reciting a creed to his mother, but the feeling passed. "Depending on Reason, the latter traits can be good or bad things, hence why I placed it first."

"Right. Assume you have enough smarts to know what a good decision is. Ambition, Courage or Integrity?"

Re: ooc note prettypendulum October 5 2009, 01:59:43 UTC
"Courage is necessary to stand by Reason when opposed." He'd met many people who'd fallen short in this attribute, and had paid because of it.

"I was bought up in a power based class system, rather than money or social rank. Without Ambition, there would be nothing, and you would be no one." The base instinct of many demons was the drive for power, but with little ambition to achieve the highest power, many died before they saw their first century.

"Integrity is by all means not the least important. Not to me, though it may be to others. To stand strong, to survive. No matter your situation." This he did not lack in.
