Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)

Jan 07, 2007 10:13

*A small spaceship that appears to be made out of cardboard flies into the room. It lands upright on a chair, and the front opens to allow what appears to be a foot-high astronaut out.* I told them I could get that hovercraft motor to work.

Buzz Lightyear to Star Command, come in Star Command... )

Not... exactly human. *It's anyone's guess as to whether he's talking about himself or Zex.*

Actually, I'm a toy. I just happen to be human-shaped. And yes, I'm a Space Ranger.

Honestly, I don't think they do, either. We've pretty much kept it a secret. Until now, I suppose.

I think Gryffindor would probably suit me best. Oh, and the name's Buzz. Buzz Lightyear.

Gobo approached the spaceship, an expression of obvious awe on his face. "A space ranger, huh? Is that like... Do you explore outer space, too? And have you met my Uncle Traveling Matt?"

Yes, I explore outer space. Mostly when I'm trying to stop people from taking it over.

And no, I don't think I have met your uncle.

"Huh." That required some serious thought. "Why would anyone want to take over outer space? It's so... big... and it's full of silly creatures. No offense, seeing as you kinda look like one," he added hastily.

Some people like the idea that they rule a very big place. And as strange as they may seem, most aliens are just like humans - sometimes they're even better at their jobs. Star Command, for instance, would fall apart without the LGMs.

Molly approached the spaceship with a wide smile. "Well, I don't think I've ever seen living toys before, but I loved your Gryffindor answer so much that I'm willing to vote you wherever you want to go. Sensible young men are so hard to come by these days."

I believe I'd fit best in Gryffindor, ma'am. I'm Buzz, by the way. Buzz Lightyear.

"Of course. And Gryffindor would be proud to have you. I'm Molly Weasley, dear." She leaned in confidingly. "I'm Fred and George's mum, so as you can probably tell, I hate the Gryffindor question."

"Oi, you're a Space Ranger? As in, from space? With space ships?" Franky said, grinning. This is perfect! "Y'know, I'm building a space ship right now..."

Yes, I'm a Space Ranger. *This is getting rather repetitive.*

You're building a space ship? Interesting...

"Say, would you be willing to oversee this proect? I mean, you must have all sorts of experience with this kind of stuff," Franky said, kneeling to bring himself level to Buzz.

Well, mostly I fly the ships, rather than building them, but I'm fairly familiar with how ships are put together from having to repair them. I could help with the project, yes.

Malice walks into the main hall and stops when she sees the new applicant.

Lowering herself onto one knee she speaks up.

"Toy? Are you like a doll, such as myself?" She questioned.

"If that is the case, then would this Andy be your client?-" "No... That isn't right" Malice muttered quietly.
"Is this Andy your owner?"

Some people would say I'm a doll, although really I'm more of an action figure. But I'm certainly not quite like yourself. *For one thing, I'm not quite so tall.*

Andy's my owner, yes. I'm Buzz. Buzz Lightyear.

"Action figure?" Malice asks.
"I am sorry, but I am not familiar with that term. I am still unfamiliar with many things; it is difficult to administrate my own affairs."

Malice smiles slightly.

"I am Malice Doll. If you do not mind me asking, Buzz Lightyear, what is an 'Action Figure's' function?"

Alright... basically an action figure is like a doll, but for some reason boys dislike the word "doll" and prefer to call their toys action figures.

Pleased to meet you, Malice. *Hoo boy. I really hope there isn't a reason she's called that.*
