If I hear one more person say the words, "Nothing better than summer in the Northwest," I'm gonna have to strongarm a ho.  I would rather spend the summer in 110 degrees Arizona than in this dumpy rainforest.  Nothing better than summer in the Northwest?! I feel like that is a joke or something.  The Northwest doesn't even know what summer is.

It needs to be summer pronto.  We've had a bunch of random weekends where it'll get up into the 70s, and that is just all kinds of amazing.  But today, for example, it is sunny and beautiful, but like 40 degrees out.  This is a problem ( Read more... )

Guys on my floor get really excited and worked up over video games.  The guys on my floor last year did too.  I feel like all of that energy could be put to better use.  I don't understand the point of being good or beating your friend at a video game.  Instead, they could be outside playing football, basketball, ultimate frisbee, sand volleyball, ( Read more... )

Our Men's Novice 8+ DID get 4th place during their first heat, so they DID move on to the petite finals, where they took 3rd! That is so good! I think that means that they still get medals.  Jealous.  But it was awesome to see them pull through USD during their last sprint, and I'm really happy for my friends ( Read more... )

People outside my door get awfully worked up over a video game.

I don't really feel like studying abroad anymore.  I have become re-accustomed to American life (it only took 2 1/2 years!) and am really comfortable just focusing on my life here.  I have a lot going for me here, I am moving up in the rowing world, and I need to concentrate more on getting my undergraduate degree than on becoming fluent in French ( Read more... )

I think that group projects at the college level are stupid.  Why can't I work on my own?! Groups are limiting and frustrating.
