Our Men's Novice 8+ DID get 4th place during their first heat, so they DID move on to the petite finals, where they took 3rd! That is so good! I think that means that they still get medals. Jealous. But it was awesome to see them pull through USD during their last sprint, and I'm really happy for my friends.
Somewhat unrelated topic. Since signing my coach's contract to not drink, probably close to 3 months ago now, I really don't feel like loading my body up with alcohol at all. I used to miss drinking a lot, and once in a while I still do (miss it), because I am a really big rum fan and crave the taste (as well as the buzz, of course). But in reality, the longer I go without it, the easier it becomes. Now the thought of light beer kind of repulses me, because it is so cheap and tasteless, and I just picture people filling themselves up with gallons of this piss, clogging up their system. I figure if I am going to drink at this point, I may as well show some class and enjoy the taste.
Anyway, I felt like that was interesting, and am glad to know that I will probably not end up an alco later in life after all!
P.S. The sun has been out here in Pullman and the town has come to life! I actually spent a ton of time outside yesterday, walking around town/campus, playing frisbee, etc, and got some serious color on my face & head. Hopefully not a burn on my scalp; I'd like to think I have enough hair now to protect it, but it looked a little rosey.
