Ah! The rush of the wind felt fabulous. Jackie had fully intended on spending the day flying, not expecting to be side-tracked with talking and catching up with her friends in the morning. It wasn't as if she minded; she enjoyed her friends' company, but flying was something she treasured. It was a release from her stress of the week before, and a great way she thought to end the weekend.
As she landed near the lake, the sand rippled slightly underfoot. She dismounted, and took a deep breath, sighing at the vast lake in front of her. If she had more time, she probably would have traversed the entire circumference of the lake, but it would be getting dark soon and she opted for dinner rather than another flight.
She knew she could fly back, but she enjoyed walking too. So, she started the trek towards Hogwarts with her broom in her hand.
