Seated squarely in the middle of the plush rug at the center of the room, Tatiana lovingly patted her assortment of beauty products and shoes. She and Isabel had a mission today, and they were waiting for Jackie. On the way up to their room, both of them had passed their friend downstairs in the common room with Sly, wearing those infernal pigtails that she absolutely refused to change...for the time being.
Well, not for long. Tatiana had a weird aversion to pigtails that she couldn't quite explain, and she was going to take care of it...by--gasp!--undoing them. In an hour's time, Jackie would be unrecognizable. All Tatiana had to do now was wait. She motioned to Isabel that it wouldn't be long now. There were footsteps coming up the stairs!
She reached slowly for a hairbrush and curling iron. Patience...patience! Stalking prey was an art. Not to spook it was the key to success. If Jackie spooked and bolted, Tatiana and Isabel would be very bored that afternoon. And they didn't want to be bored, now did they?
