Bill had no idea what he was going to tell Mike, but he didn’t really care. He had Gabe again; that was all he needed. He knew that Mike wasn’t going to be happy; he had promised the other boy that he would try and make it work, that he would try and move on from Gabe. He knew he had broken his promise many times, he just didn’t know how to tell Mike that he and Gabe were back together, he didn’t know what to say. Most of Bill was afraid that Mike would take it the wrong way, as if Bill was saying he didn’t want to be around him anymore; that wasn’t even close to true.
All Bill could think of was telling Mike, telling him what was happening, and how he was going to break this to him. He walked cautiously towards the TAI bus, not knowing what he was going to find inside.
Luckily, Mike was there, and unluckily, he was alone.
“Hey,” he said upon noticing Bill’s entrance, “you didn’t sleep here last night. Where were you?”
An awkward silence followed these words. Bill didn’t know where to continue, he wasn’t sure if he knew what to say; what to say to make it okay to make it not hurt, even though he knew it was going to, no matter what.
“Mike, we…We need to talk.” Mike nodded.
“I know; I know what happened last night, Bill, you were drunk, it’s not a big deal, and he’s… Well, he was your first love. It’s fine, really, I’m not mad.”
“That’s not why I’m here, Mike, I came here to--” Mike’s eyes widened as he realized what Bill was about to say.
“You’re breaking up with me, aren’t you?” Bill looked away, he could feel Mike’s eyes burning to him, and he couldn’t take that. Still not looking at the other man, Bill nodded. “I get it, you had sex with Gabe and suddenly he forgives you? Must have been some fucking amazing sex.”
“Don’t be like that.”
“Be like what? Am I just supposed to be happy for you?” Mike looked upset, but most of all he looked hurt. “Well, William Eugene Beckett, I am happy for you. It hurts, but I am. I know I couldn’t make you happy, and I know Gabe can.” Mike stood up, ignoring Bill and walked off of the bus.
Bill sat down on the couch; he was confused about what had just happened. He wasn’t sure if Mike had taken it well or not, it seemed as if he had. He shrugged it off when his phone went off a few minutes later: Gabe.
“You know, you could just walk over here,” he smirked, Gabe was one of the laziest people he had ever met, and that was one of his favorite things about his ex boyfriend.
“But, then it would take longer to hear your voice. Besides, I can’t walk over there, I have plans.” Bill raised his eyebrows, but, Gabe couldn’t see that.
“You do, do you?”
“Mhm. Well, they just happened like a few seconds ago, but, I wanted to call you to tell you that I will see you later.” Bill smiled.
“Okay, um, Gabe?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you.”
“I know.”
A/N - Hm, so did Mike take it well? What is Gabe doing? So many questions only six chapters left to answer them....
Oh! And for those of you who have started to realize I reply to comments right before posting, I had every intention of posting last night, but I just got to lazy... shame on me. Yes, I know Bill does some contradicting of himself in this chapter, he's confused he's supposed to.
