I loved the movie! I don't have time to read everyone's review that's being posted on LJ today (too busy at work) but I will get around to it. HBP was so worth seeing at midnight! And it was worth the 8 month wait! I thought this was the best adaptation of a Potter book so far. I really liked Gambon's Dumbledore in this one. The relationship between him and Harry was very well done. Alan Rickman was great, Tom was wonderful and I loved Jim as Slughorn! He was a joy to watch. The trio was fantastic! I thought this was the best Hermione Emma has ever done. The moments between Harry and Hermione were really sweet. Rupert was fun and as always a perfect Ron. The chocolates scene was hilarious! And Daniel was perfect in the Felix Felicis scene. It was so funny and I loved what all the scenes between Harry and Slughorn. I felt the Harry/Ginny relationship was done well. Of course I would have loved a little more but what we got was pretty good. I'm ready to see this movie again!

All those moments were great. I liked at the beginning how Harry gets Apparated into the stream/pond at the Burrow. You'd think Dumbledore would be better than that. I too liked how everyone kept appearing on the stairs.

Ron was great with the potion, climbing up on Harry's bed and being waaay to close.

I liked how Ron was asking Harry what Dean saw in Ginny and Harry starts going on about her and says she's attractive and then starts talking about her skin. FUNNY!

Oh and after the Slughorn party Hermione teasing Harry saying how much he enjoyed dessert, since that was when Ginny showed up.

I did like lots of parts in the movie, such as Ron and Lavender. Hermione truly showing she very fond of Ron especially in the Hospital scene. That was priceless, since Emma kept saying he was a brother to her, during some of her interviews.

I just wish they would have more G/H moments. I was disappointed in not seeing the big kiss between them. It looked like Ginny initating the kiss when it was the other way around in the books. I was hoping to see Harry jealous, or being hit by bludgers during the Quidditch scenes.

I really loved it. Films are never the same as books, we all know that. The things I didn't like last night/this morning, I can now, with a bit of sleep, sort of understand, cinematically ( ... )

So what did you think about H/G in the movie? I'm curious on everyone's take on it.

I thought it was very sweet and built well from what little there was in OotP -- Ginny getting upset when Hermione said Cho was staring at Harry and Ginny hanging back and staring at Cho and Harry in the RoR.

Could it have been done differently? Yes, but it didn't have to be. It worked. The kiss was tantalizing and the crying scene was wonderful. You see him really liking her and I liked that he and Hermione talked about it -- spikes the Harmonian guns, I'd say.

What did you think?

I was just estactic that Ginny was in there and she was an important character, but my favorite part was at the very end, when she was holding him and he was clutching to her and IT WAS SO SWEET AW <3 I loved it. I'm tempted to write a fic on it.

I agree, not enough Lupin/Tonks, Molly/Arthur. Alan, perfect. Tom, brilliant. Dan, Rupert, Emma, top notch.

I loved the scene where Ginny feeds Harry some treat and Ron interrupts. I love how Harry almost kissed Ginny at the Burrow but was interrupted.

I'm still trying to process the movie, so I won't go into lots of details. But I loved it. I loved it so so so much that I saw it twice yesterday. It's been a long time since I've done that. I actually loved all the Harry/Ginny stuff, and some of my favourites were in scenes where Ginny wasn't even present (though I loved those too). Hermione saying 'I think Harry enjoyed dessert' and that whole 'it feels like this' were just great ( ... )
