I saw it today and have to say that in its own right, it was good. You just can't compare it to the book. I love the funny moments. Harry hopped up on Felix was very funny. I was disappointed with The Kiss, however I'm glad it was there. I mean, the kiss with Cho was more involved, for crying out loud. I was also disappointed that Ginny didn't have a lot of lines and her character didn't have any life/strength but that wasn't Bonnie's fault. It's the scriptwriter and director who's at fault there. All in all, I liked it and plan on buying the DVD.

I posted a review in my LJ so i won't rehash just say that my reaction to H/G and hermione was less the second time around. I came out feeling a little shafted but on second watch it was ... subtle, nicely done and subtle. Still annoyed the Cho kiss was longer. Praying for a proper Happy Birthday!

I too felt a little shafted. But Harry's reaction is what matters regarding these kisses. While the camera was on Harry and he's standing there with his eyes closed, you can just feel and see the anticipation that he is feeling. And he is so happy afterwards. He knew that kiss with Ginny was special. He did not have that feeling after his kiss with Cho.

You're absolutely right about that! Harry's feelings pre and post kiss are a world of difference, no matter the time length of the kisses.

I still heart the scene at the end when he's crying in her arms. *le sigh*

I feel a bit odd saying this, but I was REALLY dissappointed. I'm always dissappointed by book-to-film adaptations, but from the trailers, this one looked good ( ... )

And Bella...she was crazier than I imagined, but she was wonderful and I notice that it was her actress's name that came right after the trio's.

After the trio, the rest are alphabetic -- her last name is "Carter".

Helen Bohman Carter?

I don't think I spelled "Bohman" correctly.

I was so disappointed in the H/G scenes. The spark was lacking and I feel the kiss could have been sweet, but portrayed in a better man. I liked the few parts where they would just be staring into each other's eyes, but I could have really done without the shoe lace tying scene. ;D

But I wonder what they're planning for DH... They left the relationship hanging in the air, so...

I felt there should have been more Harry/Ginny too,but I'm hoping for more from Harry on his feelings for her in DH. Besides the usual scenes everyone loved,my favorite scene was the one of Ron and Harry fighting over the Potions book in Slughorn's class! That was such a typical dude friendship thing that I laughed out loud! Especially after Ron got the good book and Harry hit him with the old one. Their friendship has been rarely witnessed in the films..but this one did it.
