As many know, Russia has a horrible history. If it's not an invasion, it's a revolution or something else that spells trouble. So what I request that Russia pulls out his heart and gives it to a fellow nation for safekeeping during difficult times.
Bonus: At first, Russia asks the nation to destroy his heart, because he can't bear to go on.
Bonus 2: The nation he gives it to is France. Reason? Well, he does tend to get along better with France compared to other nations (The only time they were fighting against each other was during Napoleon's reign). Not to mention that he doesn't seem like the type to try and hurt Russia.

“Y-you know how revolutions are, da?” A shudder ran through Russia's body, and his damp eyes stared off at nothing. “Things are...are changing, and we must do...d-difficult things for....ch-change. W-we...we....m-must...” A few tears spilled down his face, only to be quickly swiped away with a gloved hand. “I-I have to do this w-with my...my own h-hands. I...I will...” More tears fell. France climbed out of his own chair and joined Russia on the couch while the larger man tried to them wipe away. His lips were trembling now, France noticed, and at last he gave up trying to stop the tears and just covered his eyes with his hands. France slipped an arm around his shoulders when he heard the first muffled sob

“Always glad to lend a hand, mon ami,” France answered weakly. “And, ah...what do you want me to do with...this? Until you return for it, anyway

Guh. Russiaaaa. So creepy and yet so woobietastic at the same time. What makes all this even more chilling is how well it would fit in between the Bloody Sunday and modern-day strips. (And what would happen if France cannot force Russia to take back his heart...?)

A previous commenter pretty much summed up my feelings. "Creepy and woobietastic" is exactly what it is, and this bridges the conflicting sides of Russia we've seen quite well.

Anon, every word of this is perfect. My heart is broken. Still, I want to thank you for writing this. It needed to be written, I think.
