I like the way New York is how Veronica runs away in this fic. Big crowds/busy life cover up the lies one tells oneself in a way, breaks the internal struggle. It's poetic, I like it.

Guess. "Why didn't you keep in touch?" "I was in love with you, but you didn't feel the same way". His "you can't make someone love you" speech was all about her. Delusional Veronica.

Poor Esperanza. But I think that she will get a new mommy soon, no? :)

It really makes sense for me too, so I'm glad that worked for you. I mean, it fits with her and what we know of her personality. Yes, she stood out in high school, but I think in this situation - with her family situation being a total mess and her not really knowing or understanding who she really is - she'd prefer to just fade into the background. She was in the papers/tabloids and such after Lilly died, after she and her father figured out that Celeste was the guilty party, after her Lianne married Jake Kane, and it's just been more than enough for her. She wants to not be the one who's so well-known for once.

No comment about your guess. That'll be coming up in a few chapters, I figure.

I'm still a bit lost as to Logan's previous feelings, but I know that it will come later.

Duncan being some sort of evil genius with the dance is really cute, and you know I'm more than interesting in more about Cara. She's just an OFC right?

To be honest, I'm not totally clear, myself, on why Duncan was the evil genius. I've got a couple theories rolling around in my head, and I just need to determine that for myself, for real, before I put anything about that into writing. [which probably won't be for a few chapters, if at all, anyhow]

Cara is an OFC, yes. And more details on her are coming at some point. Probably when Veronica goes to visit Logan for dinner/storytelling. More information about Logan's feelings will probably be coming then as well.

I really like that neither Logan nor Veronica feel any desperation about the other. (At least not yet.) That way when they finally do come together it's not because of some compulsion but because each choses to go after something special.

Can you please start writing more of this? I'M feeling desperation!

Well, I wouldn't rule out compulsions playing a role, but it won't be the overriding factor. They're more than happy as they are, more or less, but they do definitely have a few "what if"s playing in their mind. It's something they want answers to - and are planning on getting answers to - so long as it doesn't involve any more physical action. [i.e. making out, sex, etc.] Veronica won't cheat on Nick, and Logan wouldn't want to be responsible for ruining her happiness with a "mistake" with him.

But of course, that'll come up more later. :D

I haven't had time to write more yet, but, again, it's on my to-do list. I'm just not sure when I'll get the next chapter started.

Yay, so glad to see an update to this! I love that Duncan is the mastermind in getting those two to spend time together.

I'm really interested in seeing the reasons why Logan cut off all contact with V.

I know you're busy, but I can't wait to read more!

I really think that Duncan was frustrated with having to keep the secret about Logan [and his family and whatever else] a secret from Veronica. I'm not positive on his motivation for having them dance together at the end yet - I hadn't really considered the bouquet/garter tradition when I wrote my outline - but I'm thinking it was probably because he wants them to get to know each other again and be friends again. [Not that they were ever *not* friends, but there was the whole "not talking" thing.]

The reasons for the "not talking" thing are forthcoming. There's more than one reason - because, seriously, what *one* reason could be good enough to warrant not talking to Veronica? I haven't counted them up yet, but there's definitely a few, and they'll be forthcoming in a future chapter. Probably another 2 or 3 from here, but I'm not positive. Gotta see how quickly I move through the outline and all! :D

Yeah, Logan is definitely sympathy-inspiring. And he doesn't want that, not really. He's had enough of that after Lilly died. He just wants to be respected - which is something that he's never really had, at least not in Neptune.
