Momoko's classes started late August, but she needed to find an apartment and tell her parents and make sure all her paperwork was in order and figure out how to get to the school

"True." Although Dinah felt like she'd been stuffed in a shoebox. But. "It has air-conditioning, so that's a major plus." Especially for poor Moshi. And they took pets! Hugely important!
"I know! It totally gets hot here! I'm going to have a hard time getting used to that," Momoko nodded. "I was thing of a futon anyway. It's easier to move."
..
"Wait, do you mean the kind that's a sofa or the kind that's a bed? Like a mattress?" She made a gesture that was TOTALLY obviously someone folding a Japanese futon.
Momoko stared at the tag. "Dinah! Look how much they want for just a coffee table! And you have to put it together yourself!"
They were doing a combination of window shopping and actual shopping, looking for the basic necessities that Momoko would need. Momoko wouldn't be moving into the apartment until the first of August, but she'd been too eager to wait.
Priestly had wandered away for a little bit (probably pricing the best cookware possible) so Dinah was considering just making a present of a few things when Momoko's back was turned. Hmm. Maybe get Priestly to take her to find ice cream?
"We could get a used one from Goodwill?" Dinah offered. "Or maybe make one out of those electric cable spools. Some of the guys I knew in the dorms had one of those."
Like Momoko would fall for tha... oooOOoooh! A pink ranger bathrug!!
"I don't think there's room in the apartment for a big one like that." She frowned at the rug - the image on it was from an episode she didn't like. "Unless I don't get a desk. I could use the table for one, I guess. Sit on the floor?"
"TV trays? Nice ones?" Dinah offered. "So you can fold them up after the guests leave, or get done eating." Although if Momoko had more than two guests at once, they were going to have to bring their own chairs.

Dinah was trying to figure out the best angle to check on Jaime and Momoko from, without being really really obvious, and still being able to maybe read lips. Also, wishing she'd been able to talk Momoko into calling before this.
"Nope," Priestly said, though admittedly, he wasn't trying very hard. "So I was thinking, like, pink and kind of mod."
He actually meant to find cute potholders for Momoko, yes. It distracted him from being irritated that she never told Jaime she was moving to his city.
Dinah gave him an exasperated look, then turned back to the display. At least for now. "She almost got all pink power ranger furniture. Which, it's her first place, she can get whatever she wants." But holy cow.
"I really hope she's not going to cry--" Man, Momoko was wound up.
"Well, golly," Priestly said, trying, and kind a failing, to keep his irritation at bay, "maybe if she'd actually talked to him before she showed up. . . ."
He shot a glance over. "Man, how'd things get that messed up between them?"
And while it hadn't turned out as horrible as she'd feared, Momoko still totally owed Priestly and Dinah for telling Jaime about her moving to El Paso. Sooooooo. She took a moment and flipped through her phone and sent to Priestly:
>.< Payback Time! Guess what I am send ing Dinah? Hmmm?
A few seconds later, Dinah's phone notified her of a delivery! A video Momoko had taken of Priestly asleep, mumbling and squishing his pillow happily. Loooots of close ups of the drool.

A few seconds later, that was followed by a text to Dinah:
I know you helped him so your payback is in Priestly's inbox.

And now Priestly had a video. Of the dancing and singing Dinah had done around the camp the other day.

Then she got Momoko's note. She blinked. "What did she send you?"
