All five stages of grief in one night.

My Cardinals lost.  On Friday night, I got a gut feeling the Giants would win.  I really hate my intuition right now.  But I still love my Cardinals.  Because that's what you do.  My father did tell me, "At least you're not a Cubs fan."  I guess he's right.  Even so, those three games that we won were one hell of a giant Hope Spot.

It's okay.  There ( Read more... )

Congrats on your GRE scores! I never had to take the GRE (I took the teacher's certification equivalent) so I'm assuming those scores are pretty good. :)

Thanks! Yeah, it's on a scale of 130-170 and 150 is average, so 146 is just below that, but 162 is the beginning of the really competitive scores. They're definitely better than I expected.

Congrats on the GRE!

And I feel you; the Nats and the Orioles lost on the same day. It was not happy times in the MD/DC area nor in the hearts of MD/DC expats (although I mostly don't care, but I was hanging out with people who do).

Thank you! I stressed a lot beforehand, but I'm really glad I studied from one of those guidebook things so I knew the layout and stuff. It ended up being a bit easier than I expected.

Oh. Ouch. I apologized on behalf of the Cardinals for Game 5 of the NLDS. Obviously, we paid dearly for that comeback. It was all Chris Carpenter's fault, with his Rousing Speech and everything and I have a weakness for tall attractive men named Chris. Maybe next year (for everybody)...

It's always like that. The LSAT was one of the worst things in the world leading up to it, but once I was there it was like, eh, whatevs, and then it was done with and I never had to worry about it again.

It's okay, the Yankees lost, so that's all I care about (not personally, because what is baseball, but in theory). I think given I'm in Queens now I'm supposed to be a Mets fan? I'm okay with that. Mets fans are good people.

Yes, exactly! I had trouble sleeping the two nights before because of it, and then I got there and the first section was Analytical Writing, which consists of two essays that are like every five-paragraph essay ever assigned, and I was like "No problem."

The Yankees losing helps me keep my faith in humanity. Oh, and the Mets got their first no-hitter in franchise history this year...against the Cardinals. Jon Stewart fanboy-ed about it on The Daily Show and even showed a video of himself squeeing at the end of the game. Oh well, I can appreciate that. And he was just so darn cute about it!
