So I don't have to go in to work today---they called me and told me not to come, probably because it's dangerously hot outside and/or the crowds aren't very large.  It's okay because now I don't have to go in until Thursday, and then my hours become more regular.

I am kind of confused at people from Orlando going to a theme park in another part of the country. But maybe they're DC Comic people.

Well, the two kids from Orlando that I met were two brothers (maybe 12 and 14 years old) who had two older siblings living in a nearby small town, so the parents (who were elsewhere) decided to take them to Six Flags as part of the trip. I said, "So you guys are near Disneyland," and the older brother answered, "Man, I hate that place! It's all for little kids!" SF has five big coasters and a few other thrill rides (with names like "The Batman" and "Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast"), which might appeal more to teenage boys than "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" does.
