Looks really fun! I have to try sometime... Can the yarn you use be partly polyester or should it be 100% wool? (If you have any experience with that...) I think colouring yarn for a pair of socks would be a nice start, but then I usually don't use 100% wool yarn to make the socks last longer.

And just because I am curious - does the yarn smell of Kool-aid?

Thanks! It can be partly wool, it doesn't have to be 100%. The color will only take to the wool though, so you'll have spots. But sometimes that looks great. Yes & no on the kool-aid smell. The 1st one I did still smells like cherry grape but I just did it a couple of days ago. They other 2 don't have any kool-aid smell, I did them about 3 months ago. So the smell fades.

I'll see if I can find any white sock-yarn then! It might actually be hard to find, because I think a lot of people would find it boring! But I'm sure I'll find something :-)

And the idea of koolaid-smelling socks is quite amusing!

It doesn't have to be white either, it could be natural. I've even seen people dye pink, peach, gray, any kind of light color. Of course, it changes the finished color but I know they're still dyeable.
