I decided that I needed to try to make Gryffindor colored yarn as I have been unable to find any & I wanted to make one of ofenjen 's Yarn Ball Cozy.  I figured I'd be waiting in line for HBP & always need something to do or it drives me crazy just standing there waiting.  :D  So here it is.

Here's what I did.  This is Patons Classic Merino Wool from JoAnn's.  I looked on youtube and found a tutorial on how to dye yarn with Kool-Aid.  I wrapped the yarn around my Mom's 2 chairs as I don't have a swift.  It worked just fine.  I then soaked the yarn in warm to hot water while I got the Kool-Aid baths ready.  Don't forget your gloves or ( Read more... )
