Still sick, but I'm recovering, slowly but surely. Totally blew through the Top Gear Vietnam Special (not quite as funny as I'd hoped) and three episodes of Firefly (YAY!) this morning on the Wii's NetFlix streaming queue. I chose those because Casino Royale is not available for streaming. There's always the Rifftrax...

Not a surprising choice:
THE NINTH DOCTOR'S STORYLINE
![](http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/3800000/ninth-doctor-the-ninth-doctor-3866510-512-288.jpg)
The Ninth Doctor's storyline was really well-handled, especially compared to some later storylines. His had the subtlest arc words, for starters. I read in a scholarly book called 50 Influential Figures in Science Fiction that Nine's main dilemma is nihilism vs. existentialism and I agree with that reading: for instance, should he destroy the Daleks (and some innocence people along with them) because he can and there is no higher authority to answer to (nihilism), or should he save innocent people because even though there's no higher authority, it's what he sees as morally right and gives his life meaning (existentialism)?
Nine understood the terrible power he held, and he spent his character arc coming to terms with that and with the aftermath of the Time War. I feel like Ten forgot about the existential qualities of his power and just started playing God, while Eleven has pulled back more into Nine's moral territory.
And I just love this video:
