You guys. I have a problem.

Okay. Look. I already have two vids with clips in the timeline, and as of last week I've ripped all of BtVS and Gilmore Girls to my new vidding drive so that I can start a VividCon vid for each of those shows. I got smacked upside the head by a Friday Night Lights vidsong a few weeks ago; I keep waiting for my brain to realize that the song isn't ( Read more... )

Have you tried making up spreadsheets for each of the vids? And jot down any clips you can think of but don't actually hunt for clips or do anything with them in Premiere. Maybe that will let you get enough of an idea out of your system to concentrate a bit.

Well, see, that's what I've been doing since the two bad vid ideas before I actually started vidding. I have notes on at least twelve vid ideas, most of which are sleeping quietly like good little non-priority vid ideas. The problem is that the current batch is proving recalcitrant. *g*

I feel exactly the same at the moment. 4 vids in the works at the same time and a very hard time focusing as new vi ideas keep popping into my head.
Something I found effective in the past is to somehow begin all of them, even if it means just putting 3 clips on a timeline. See how it could work. Usually then, one of the project takes over the others because it's more inspiring at the time.
Of course, this is harder to do when you have actual deadlines to have vids produced...*sigh*.

Yeah, I do this all the time; usually I edit the audio so that I know what version of the song I'll be working with, and then I print out the lyrics and keep them in a "to-be-vidded" folder on my desk, and whenever I get an idea I scribble it down on the lyrics sheet. So I can be sort of working on all of them even though most of my time is spent working on the vid with the next deadline. And usually this works! Just... not this time.

I don't have helpful suggestions to offer; mostly I'm here going: Buffy! Friday Night Lights! Slings and Arrows! Firefly! *g*

I'll let you off the FNL hook until you get S2 source. Though I have to admit, FNL really makes me wish I had the time and the disc space to vid; it's just so pretty, and I love them all so much. Sigh.

I may have to send you the FNL song so you can flail with me -- that worked out pretty well for "Nothing New." Plus I already victimized Killa with it; you and way2busymom are next up. *g*

This year for sure! I swear! And BLESS YOU for rooting for this vid, because I occasionally have the sinking feeling that you and I are going to be the only ones excited about it. (But I'm VERY excited!)

Creativity ahoy!

If I get attacked by ideas like this, I make notes for the ones that have to wait.

Yes, me too; hence the giant "to be vidded" folder in my desk drawer, stuffed full of lyrics printouts with notes scribbled all over them. And usually that's enough to let me focus on the ones that most need my attention. Usually. Heh.
