Thanks to all who offered sympathy about the job yesterday.

Better news today: a different job, which I mentioned a while back (in a locked post, because it involved news that was not mine to make public) came through today. Huge relief - it hasn't been at all clear that the funding would be available for the position, so while I knew that ( Read more... )

Congratulations! But have you fully considered the ethical implications of showing people pictures of cake and telling them about perfect jam tarts and then withholding food?

Thank you. I think the implications are more culinary than ethical, i.e., "you too can make a jam tart! and should!"

Glad to hear the direction for things today is looking up. :) I'd also like to mention that when the jam tart was mentioned, and then followed by the words 'dinner party', my stomach cried. Or growled. They sound the same in stomach language.

I'd love the recipe. In fact, today while I was reading about the menu for the party, I kept wondering when the here's luck cookbook would come out. Because I'm sure have entirely too much free time on your hands. ;) But yes, jam tart, please. :)
