Well, I've almost finished doing chapter 10 with amycuz89's translation, so you don't need to worry about chapter 10 anymore ^^ I'll probably post it later today or early tommorrow.

Oooooooo. that's awesome. Looking forward to seeing it. If you guys don't have HQ scans, and later on in the future if you're looking to redo the chapter with them, I'll see if I can supply you with some.

Another quick question:

Are you guys planning on doing the same for all the chapters, here on out? Because if so I'll just cancel this little call out thing and see if I can get you some nice raw scans for you to use.

If you guys are planning on doing this from here on out and you guys ever need to split up work with the image editing/sound effects/bubbles, whatever, just let me know and I'll be happy to help out.

Also if you're new to scanlating editing you can throw any questions or problems you have at me and I'll be happy to tell you what I know from announcing releases to png compression. I can even help you gues with releasing it outside the community irc and all that. Plenty of people out there are waiting for Loki scanlations. If you've done it before, ignore me.

*Yay, I'm excited! XD*

I don't know what's happening with the rest of the chapters, but I'd be willing them to edit them if I had raws and a translation. =P

Thanks for the offer! Yeah, this is my first time doing this, but luckily our school gives a short sort of tutorial-thing on all the applications (including photoshop) during computer science, so I know basically how to work it. I'd definetly appreciate the help though if I end up having too much work. (Not to mention I need to buy photoshop, since all I have right now is the 30 day trial...)

*Is excited as well! =P*

i have the japanese manga, and the general ability to read it; what i do not really have is time. :x so i'm willing to be a translator, but only in the event that no one else offers.

( full disclosure: i also happen to live in singapore, but i'm leery of shipping the manga volumes overseas, and i don't have paypal or other internet-based payment methods anyway. i won't be working from the english volumes of the manga, though; it's not as if i own them. )

Hi again ^.^ aila_chan May 5 2007, 18:06:43 UTC
Hey. I have an idea to get all of us (amycuz89, thegoblinwood, angel_p, you, me) together to work releases. It wouldn't require you to translate the whole chapter, just sort of do what you're already doing with helping amycuz89 out with what might be different with the German translation and the Japanese.

For more details just scross down the threads in this post to the one called "Proposition~"

I can still scan the remaining volumes when I drop by that store-- I just need to know what are the other volumes you need. I'll take a peek for volume 3 today though~ but I'm assuming 3-7 is needed? Are we gonna pick up MLR too now that it's been dropped?? (T_T;; sorry I didn't get to your message sooner. I was making a deadline in the past couple of days @_@)

Also, if anyone would like to help chip in a little and knock off the cost, I would appreciate it. A LOT. T_T;;; I'll still go and buy it since the bookstore is generally MUCH cheaper than the regular cost (so no guilty feelings about ripping it apart).

I also don't mind being an editor for extra help here and there. I use photoshop everyday-- I've edited pages for scanlations before, and I've done SFX editing... a LOOONG time ago.

Proposition: Scanlation team go? aila_chan May 5 2007, 17:47:50 UTC
I'm still definatly looking for raws, and I was just looking at how much it'd cost me to ship volume 3 out to me, and it was getting to be all bleh. So sure, I'd be happy to pitch it to buy a vol 3 for scanning. Just tell me how much the vol 3 will be, and if you have something like paypal I could probably send you a couple bucks to help with it.

I'm going to try and get in contact with thegoblinwood and amycuz89 since they're already well on their way to scanlating ch 10 now. No point in two seperate groups doing ch 10, and I have no problem with the translation being from the German edition as long as it's checked with the Japanese one, which from what I can see ambientlight is helping them out with.

>.> Seems to me we already have a scanlation team here in the hemuloki community, so I just need to like... talk to these people about getting some kickass quality Loki scanlations going.

Scanlation Team go!!! angel_p May 5 2007, 17:57:35 UTC
Haha yeaaahhhh... like I said, this bookstore will have the volumes for $5 max (since they're not brand new)... and if worse comes to worse, I could always ship the volume to you (or whoever else is scanning) if deadlines and job hunting bind me to disability XD;

Vol. 3 shouldn't be bad so don't worry about just volume 3~ I'm heading to school right now so I'll pick it up today if they have it :3 but if they have the rest of the series, then that's gonna be an easy $15... and another $35 for MLR if you're thinking about that too (assuming that they're at the regular price instead of the "unloved" price)

I was also thinking-- scanlations nowadays are released with fanart. Maybe we could encourage people who fanart to contribute to release? :D

Yes, that'd be awesome! *everything from the picking up the volumes to the fanart*

I wouldn't buy them all like that soon though unless they're the only ones left cause I'm sort of short on cash right now, but I am able to throw in a couple bucks per volume as we move in on it.

I'll get back to you as soon as I hear from ambientlight, amycuz89, and thegoblinwood. Wouldn't want you to buy volume 3 without their agreeing on it first.

Hey you guys, ambientlight, amycuz89, thegoblinwood! What do you think of this idea? It wouldn't require anymore work than what you're already doing. Heck, possibly even a lot less work ( ... )

Sounds good to me.

My vote for communication goes to IM. :| It's the most convenient and you can see if someone's available to talk right away rather than pacing.

Message boards seem like a good idea too. It's concentrated to just those people and organized. And everyone can see the post.

Going to school now (well, bookstore first)! I will let you guys know whether I successfully obtained vol 3 or not in 2-3 hours XD;

I really like this idea, and for those who didn't notice what I stated in my previous entry, I have the german volumes of voulume 3-6 (not seven, yet). As the goblinwood stated earlier, he is right now trying to scanlate chapter 10 by using the translations I gave him. But maybe I should post the whole, complete translation here again, in case anyone would like to redo them of some reasons? (since some of you were talking about using high quality scans. If so, please just tell me to do so, and I will make a new entry with them ( ... )

Wow, it seems as if I'm a bit late to throw myself out there, but I will anyway. If you guys are still looking for more help with translations, I'd be willing to do some work. I'm not particularly new to the idea of working with a translation group (I've helped History of Hyrule translate some Zelda doujinshi's in the past), either, but nothing official or anything like that, mind you.

I just want to be of some help, any help, as much as the next Loki fan. I've been waiting forever to read the manga, and I'd just love to be able to offer that chance to other fans, too. All I need is the Japanese RAWs (I'm broke, so I haven't been able to buy the manga ;o;), and I'll be able to translate what I can.

Whatever the case, if you're looking for help, feel free to contact me at Michi_6278@hotmail.com

Awesome, thank you so much for the offer! *glomps* We got a pretty solid team working now so far, but you never know what may happen in the next couple of months. Mine if I keep you e-mail as backup?

Also, since we have a manga translator at the moment *Two technically*, would you down the road maybe be interested in translating other things? It'll be down the road aways, in the fall maybe, after the group has gotten it's footing, but I'd want to eventually add on some more Loki doujinshi again, or maybe even get some of the other Loki things, like the art books or character guides done. Are you interested in anything like that?

:3 I don't mind. Just give me a shout when you need me. Summer's here, so I've got more than enough time on my hands, and since I'm going to college (taking it easy), it shouldn't be too bad later on, either. :D

That said, I'm willing to do whatever you need me to. Don't hesitate to ask. :D
