I knew this day would come. But was not sure why. But I got the shock of my life. Douglas no longer believes in Santa Claus.
He has a good reason. One I remember growing up having several ideas about myself.
He not only does not believe in Santa but he doesn't believe in God either. This one worries me more. As I am Catholic and we are raising him

Maybe you could talk to him about how Santa and God exist by the good things they represent (Love, generosity, other good values) rather than trying to covince him of there physical existance. Also, explaining to him that grandma is with God now may help too (though I bet you've already tried in some manner.) Borders has a whole section of childrens books on family issues like, "how to deal with the death of a family member," some of them tie in with religion too.
I know I siad that I don't believe in God, but I think a lot of what God is about (being good to each other mainly, though I think sometimes we forget this part when trying to be "loyal" to our religions) is important to have even without believing in him. Personally, when I have children I'm going to try to focus more on giving them a set of excellent morals rather than giving them a specific faith.
