There are two announced candidates for the Democrats: Gary Peters, a former State Senator and Naval Reserve officer, who most recently headed the Michigan Lottery before accepting an endowed professorship at Central Michigan University*...and Joe's 2006 opponent Nancy Skinner.

As may be obvious based on the rest of this blog's content, I'm for Peters. Nancy had her chance, and gets props for showing the nation that Ol' Joe is vulnerable, but the '08 race requires a professional, not a bomb-thrower with no public-service record.

*Speaking of Peters at CMU, I didn't even mention that some College Republican assclown there has made it his personal mission to stalk Gary, on the ridiculous notion that he shouldn't hold a one-day-a-week privately-endowered professorship -- in political science -- while running for office. You can Google for the YouTube videos.
