assorted pimpage and babble

+ The Vag Fest is back! Girl-centric, het and femslash only, any fandom. I haven't had time to read, write, or even leave prompts for it yet, but I'll get to it. :P

+ blackmamba_esq made an Angel Coulby comm! angel_coulby. I hadn't realised until now how sad I was that everyone in the cast had one but her. ♥

+ And while I'm pimping, beyond_camelot. Because everyone needs to write fic ( Read more... )

You so totally can write drabbles in 30 minutes. I didn't think I could when I first got invited to Queerditch Pub but I got better with practice. *grin*

You don't even have to be a weirdo like me all trying to stop on an even hundred in your 20 minutes. See? Easy peasy.

I watched Merlin between blowing my nose 47563964953 times today. I see why it has to be a mistake for her to be misled (I mean, why it has to happen that way), but damn it, she's demonstrably quite bright, so she should be allowed access to information. Rar. Also, I had a moment of bothersome anachronism. Like, I obviously there are all sorts of things that are out of time, but the word "okay" made me go ajkhdsfjklhdasf.

In other news, Dollhouse skeeved me for the wrong reason this week. No, I mean. Okay, I think I think they are talking about what's wrong with the using of the bodies and stuff, even if I am not so sure the show's writers, as separate from characters, come down entirely where I want them to? But at least it's part of the show that discussing the ethics of it comes up, so while for some watchers it's just too hard to watch, I don't struggle much with that aspect. But this week? Oh hi ( ... )

Thank you for pimping the community. I think I was in denial for a while that there wasn't one for Angel. I'm glad so many people joined already though. That made me quite happy :)

I have some mixed feelings about the last Merlin episode that I'll probably post in my journal. But I agree with pretty much everything you said. And I CAN'T WAIT for the upcoming episode :)

Dollhouse Friday was... hm. I don't know what to say about it right now.

Fail. Just FAIL. >:(

Next week's looks awesome! And this week's was seriously pretty, but I guess I was just in thinky-mode as I was watching, and with Merlin that's not always the best mode to be in. :P There were parts I LOVED, but mostly I feel out of sync with fandom on this one. But to be honest everyone's so adorable and/or hot that I'm not really that mad at anyone, so it'll be okay. It's Merlin.

Yeah, I thought Dollhouse was hard to watch this week, which blows me away compared to how much I loved last week's. *shudders* Too much Paul, not enough Boyd, too much skeevy pregnancy hysterics. Why does it always have to be skeevy pregnancy hysterics? What is with you, sci-fi in general?

I can't WAIT for the Victor ep, I've missed him! And Topher was good. I mostly had issues with the plot. And Paul being on my screen for more than two minutes, but I should probably get over that one, eh?

Until the show convinces me otherwise (it hasn't btw), Paul's in the Dollhouse because he wants in Caroline's pants. Which, considering he's her handler now, EW.

See, I didn't NOT like it (to which you say "what, Heather, this is your second rant about it"), but I just had trouble with it. It was great to see more actual plot development and I've REALLY missed Morgana, but now everything's all messed up. Probably, I suspect, more messed up than the show was actually going for or planning to address.

Anyway, yes, troublesome. Which is not necessarily bad. :D

That little look that Gwen and Morgana share right at the end of the episode? Where they JUST LOOK AT EACH OTHER?

*cries* I can't even think about that right now.

I think I'm able to take it less seriously when it isn't trying to deal with Heavier Things

Ditto. I'm a dork and it makes me sad whenever they foreshadow all the tragic things that will happen to everyone. My ot4 babiessss...!

I try to keep reminding myself its a family show, that its not intentionally going to deep and dark places, and it will probably not ever make me cry or whatever. But then I feel like a dumbass cause here I am feeling bad for Morgana and angry at Merlin and worried for everyone, even though I know 8 yr olds watch this shit and ITS NOT THAT SERIOUS.

BUT IT KINDA IS

SORT OF

I DUNNO. But if you're gonna be a kids show can everyone just be cute and friends with each other forever plz? D-:

Why am I so attached?!?! WHY?!

THIS IS THE QUESTION WE NEED TO ASK OURSELVES.

Not that I can do anything about it at this point, I'm helplessly attached to everyone. But now I'm like, officially in think-mode and I can't stop thinking about it, so hopefully this weekend's crackiness will shake me out of it. Because people will get sick of my nattering on about gender portrayals and feminism and determinism and how fascist Camelot is when you really think about it.

STOP ME. QUICKLY.
