This Beltaine's ritual, and some stuff I was reading, got me thinking. A lot of the old stories and traditions relating to the Faery folk seem to be mainly focused on how to avoid interacting with them, or at least how to protect oneself from them if you can't avoid them. On Friday night I fell asleep with the full moon in my window and great horned owls calling in the forest. I dreamed that I was at home on my land, but instead of our 100 acres it was the size of the whole valley; and our pond was the size of a mountain lake. I went to see Cora Anderson today, thinking that a birthday visit a couple days late is still nice. Turns out today is her birthday - I don't know why I had the 19th in my mind. It's misty and damp and my shoulder aches, which I think means we might get a storm. I don't know what the weather people are saying, but I feel like rain. That is, I feel like it might rain, but also I feel like it is raining in my inner landscape. I am quiet and inward-turned.
