After everything that had happened last weekend, it was nice to see the village covered in snow. It sort of made it like it was wiping it clean. The memories would never be wiped, but at least it helped. It also helped that it felt like home to Molly. This time of year in Chicago, they would have had a lot of snowfall ( Read more... )

Carlos did not enjoy the snow, not at his age. As a kid, it was a rarity to see it, given he lived in Los Angeles. Now it was just a pain in the ass.

However, he felt he had to go out and walk in it once before finding some beer and staying inside. He didn't count on seeing Molly there, and before he knew it, he'd made a snowball and was lobbing it at Molly.

"Hey, it's not my fault if trouble follows him round," Carlos pointed out. "Besides, he might not be too happy if I come see you. He did warn me off at one point."

"Did he?" Molly was surprised to hear that and a little ticked at Harry. "He doesn't get a say in that." Especially when in no uncertain terms he made it very clear that he wasn't interested when she'd been attracted to him.

"Warn you off the big bad warlock?" She knew that Harry didn't feel that way about her or he wouldn't have been her teacher even if Molly was pretty sure that it was only because she was his friend's daughter. If her last name hadn't been a Carpenter, she probably would have been dead.

She was somewhat pacified by that but still a bit ticked off at Harry.

"So this isn't what happens in the village stays in the village?" Which Molly would totally get if he wanted that as long as it wasn't because he didn't want to be seen around her because of the Council. Good to kiss/screw but ashamed to be seen with. Carlos didn't seem like that type at all but you never knew.

"Is that what you want?" Carlos reached out and caught her arm, stopping her and looking at her. "Because I don't really roll that way." Meaning that no, anything here was not just for in the village.

Muscles that she hadn't realized were tight until he said that and they relaxed. "I didn't think that you did." She smiled at Carlos, "and no that's not what I want."

Carlos had tensed up as well, but he relaxed with a smile, taking her hand again. "Glad to hear it, Apprentice Carpenter."

It was deliberate, pushing past the apprentice/Warden relationship to... something else.
