Playing in the snow - Open

Feb 02, 2013 13:30

After everything that had happened last weekend, it was nice to see the village covered in snow. It sort of made it like it was wiping it clean. The memories would never be wiped, but at least it helped. It also helped that it felt like home to Molly. This time of year in Chicago, they would have had a lot of snowfall ( Read more... )

Carlos did not enjoy the snow, not at his age. As a kid, it was a rarity to see it, given he lived in Los Angeles. Now it was just a pain in the ass.

However, he felt he had to go out and walk in it once before finding some beer and staying inside. He didn't count on seeing Molly there, and before he knew it, he'd made a snowball and was lobbing it at Molly.

"Hot chocolate works." Cold shower afterward definitely. "Cafe should have some kick ass hot chocolate." And maybe with a lot more people around, Molly won't try for another long, and lingering kiss. Not that people would deter her much.

People around was good, as Carlos hauled himself up from the snow. Glancing down as he brushed himself off, thankfully none of what he'd been feeling was showing. Though he definitely needed that cold shower when he got back to the hotel.

"Let's do that," he suggested, looking at her. Being around people would be good, he wouldn't give into the desire to kiss her into insensiblity that way.

Molly slid her hand in Carlos' not really wanting to relinquish contact. "Hot chocolate with marshmallows. That's about all I can master to make, well besides coffee."

Carlos took hold of her hand eagerly, squeezing it momentarily. "Oh that sounds good," he admitted. "Really good right about now."

"Good. I'm glad you came saw me making a snow man but what had a California kid out in the snow?" Molly asked with a grin. "For me it was nostalgia."

"Curiosity," Carlos admitted. "It's rare to see, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was."

"And was your experience a good one?" Molly grinned, "not counting the hot as hell kiss."

"Not counting the kiss?" Good to know Molly found it hot as hell, though. "I think so. Snowball fight, a few laughs... was good."

"Well that the kiss made the day perfect for you goes without saying which is why I didn't include it." Molly laughed, "but I'm glad you liked your first experience with snow. If you show up to Chicago more, you might get more." Whether she meant snow or kisses was anyone's guess.

"You notice I only ever show up in Chicago when it's warm?" he pointed out, but he got the double inference from her. If this carried on back home, he might well be showing up more.

"Yeah but I noticed that you went to Scotland and that's cold a lot." Granted under Scotland in the Council's buildings it wasn't cold and Chicago was a hell of a lot colder than Scotland in the winter anyway.

ooc: So assumes the girl that has only lived in Florida. LOL

"Not through choice, though," Carlos pointed out. "And besides, we go straight into the Council buildings. Not much time for sightseeing."

[ooc: Scotland can get pretty cold in the winter (-10/12C average in a cold winter), but you're never more than 200 miles from the coast, so you don't get the extremes in the same way parts of the States do. Thus speaks the Scotswoman.]

"Ohhhhh." Molly winked, "so you're saying that if you come to Chicago is through choice?"

"Well, mostly. Apart from Harry needs someone like me to bail him out. Which is more often than not." Carlos sometimes had an inflated view of his own ego, but most of the time it was justified - or he did it because it was just him.

"I'm crushed. CRUSHED." Molly said with a mock heavy sigh. "You think of bailing Harry out before saying anything about coming to see me." She grinned, "though truthfully you'll probably spend more time bailing him out."
