Easter Dinner (Gathering style - tag Winchesters, Harvelles, and Singer)

Apr 24, 2011 13:07

Mary had spent much of Saturday prepping and baking food for Sunday and was up early today to get the rest of the food and decorations ready for dinner. It was Easter and traditionally they had a family dinner that was delicious, yes, but proper size for the three and a half mouths to feed. However, this Easter, Mary cooked like she was feeding an army. There was turkey and glazed ham, mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli and carrots, peas, salad, cranberry sauce, gravy, fresh buns and two homemade pies - pumpkin and apple. All this for John, herself, and her two sons, and perhaps a handful more if they showed up. They were definitely having left overs.

Maybe Mary was over compensating, but she wanted John, Sam, and Dean to have the best experiences with her while they still could. She felt guilty for missing out on so much of their lives and for not helping John with raising their sons that a little labouring in the kitchen wasn't a hassle.

Once everything was almost ready, Mary slipped away from the kitchen to get ready. She put her hair up and slipped on one of the new outfits she had bought while being in Harvautat. Then she walked back out and waited for people to arrive. She was a little nervous, but those seemed like a constant thing in the village so far.

Hidden in her closet were two large Easter baskets filled with various chocolate and candy for her boys. John had a chocolate bunny as well. They were for later though.

(ooc: Actually, if Castiel or Gabriel want to appear and pretend to be family friends as well, I'm going to say that's fine >.> *is mean*. If anyone initially invited has brought a guest, that's fine too. Also, I'm saying Mary hasn't been informed yet by any of the men in her life what John and the boys did after her death, so Mary hasn't learned about the whole hunter thing yet.)
