Erica, in light of what she's been through and how she was helped by the church, has found it a little easier to slip back into the Catholic traditions of her roots. She hasn't attended mass every Sunday, but some Saturday evenings, and in the mornings before work if she has time. She hasn't worked out yet how she feels about God and the Vs, but after being punished by the Devil, then saved by a miracle, she figures she owes in a big way.
Even while she was lapsed, Christmas and Easter were always two celebrations she'd always attended, but this time it felt a little more important. She'd nearly died and someone, a man she didn't know gave her sight and voice back. It called back the scripture reading of Jesus and the blind man, also making her wonder again, not for the first time, who exactly (or what) was in the village. If Lucifer was, could someone from God be as well?
Making her way into the church, she dips her fingers in the holy water, looking at all of the fresh flowers for the Easter celebration. Walking to a pew she genuflects before sliding in, kneeling to pray. The village needs protecting, even on Easter but she knows that if John can come, he will. For now, she finishes praying (for herself, for John, Tyler and Lisa. For an answer to the war back home.) and settles in as the sound of a piano plays
I Am The Bread of Life. It's not lost on her that the only thing that sustained her when she couldn't eat, the only thing that didn't rot, was the Eucharist.
Yeah. She needed to be here.
