79 Author's Choice: Alexander and...Well, I don't know that they're ever as bad as Alexander's day. Then again, what he and I consider "terrible, horrible, no good, very bad" days are probably two different things. For example, my "move to Australia" days are the days when I’m just really tired. I've actually been to Australia. It was quite lovely, but not really somewhere I think I'd like to settle. Everything's too far away. God, the view was good, though.

I can't seem to convince Elly that Max Senior's problems aren't with her. They're probably not even with me. I don't know that Max Senior is entirely comfortable around children, but I think he's just... lonely. Probably holding on to some guilt, too. I should have pushed them together.

81 Author's Choice: FearAdora watched as Max Senior showed her son how to properly feed the chickens. The smile on his face made her smile and she leaned against the fence. Memories of watching Jeb learn his chores flashed through her mind and Adora found herself so distracted that she didn't notice the large horse ambling toward her.
The sound of his snort, however, caught her attention and Adora froze solid as a statue. Her eyes went wide and she tried so hard not to breathe that it only made her have to breathe faster.
Slowly, Adora turned her head toward the animal.
