alright. so there was a book i read back in middle school that i used to use for all my book reports. it was kind of like 'a child called it'. not really. it was called 'they cage the animals at night'. it's about this little 6 year old boy whose mom is really sick. he's got about 4 brothers and they all live in this little apartment. one day she brings him to an orphanage and doesn't tell him where he's going and she's like oh just sit here i'll be right back and she doesn't come back. well, she comes back after a few years. anyways it's real sad i cried everytime i read it.
also, there's this movie that i think is german (russian maybe?) subtitled in english called big girls don't cry. it's about these 2 girls probably around age 16. but i guess it's just one of those coming of age movies. they find out that one of the girls fathers is having an affair and they set up the ladys daughter to do something bad. it just has them going to clubs and doing drugs and stuff. i cant remember really. its like the foreign version of 'thirteen'. it was a good movie though, good soundtrack. also, the movie kids. i'm not sure if that one is well known or not. anyways it's just one of those movies you have to see as you grow up. its kind of a documentary but with actors. famous people like chloe sevigny and rosario dawson are in it. its just 24 hours in nyc as a teenager basically. there's a lot of sex and drugs and such. the ending is depressing. a lot of people randomly will bring up this movie but i don't think it's that well known. i have a lot of random movies in my memory that not many people have heard of. i'll have to rack my brain for them.
hey do you guys remember the teddybears picnic? i just thought of that at work. the cartoon one that probably came out late 80s early 90s. i know there's been a song forever but i'm thinking of this cartoon from somewhere.
how's that for a non-list? hopefully i don't get yelled at again by that girl who i don't even think is a mod. do you read every entry in this community girl? try being nice :(
EDIT- i keep randomly remembering things. like don't tell mom the babysitter's dead. it was about 4 brothers and sisters (i think 4?) and there mom goes on vacation and leaves them with this really old babysitter even though the oldest sister is like 18. so the babysitter is evil and keep bossing them around and they come home one day and she's dead. so i think they hide her or bury her or something. it's just one of those movies you watch and think 'wow these people would all be arrested in a heartbeat'. i loved it. they end up throwing this huge awesome party at the end.
also if you're ever bored just put on tmc. they have some of the best movies on there (don't watch it if you hate old movies). i love watching movies my grandparents used to watch. and talking about it with them. it's a nice bonding thing. i don't know if there's anyone else out there who watches tmc but i watch it all the time!
and another movie: igby goes down. i cant really remember much from this movie. i know i only watched it for claire danes, kieran culkin, and ryan phillipe. he basically just has crazy parents and gets with older women.
another movie is thumbsucker. i found that one on demand. it's about a teenager who is addicted to sucking his thumb. he finally gets diagnosed with add and they give him some drugs. but along the way some pretty funny stuff happens along the way. i cant really remember i just know he's hanging out with these 2 girls and they're like 'tell us who has butt acne!' i don't know...
