Costa Rica and that dang term paper draft... which sounds more fun?

Nov 19, 2006 14:42

I have to decide in the next couple days if I want to go to Costa Rica in January (and miss pretty much the first week of classes- which, hey, are generally wildly boring anyway, and this experience may not be repeatable), plus finish my term paper draft. Then Thanksgiving break will be here, and I will rejoice. Hehe ( Read more... )

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....... Let's think about this reeeealllllly hard, here:
January comes, the weather's bleak and awful. You decide you'll stick around, and you'll have no reprieve from the winter monotany or the cold. On the other hand, you decide to go; you arrive in beautiful, sunny Costa Rica and get to bask in the sunlight of your own blissful self-indulgence, sipping a Margarita, staring at well-tanned eye-candy as long as you like.

And hey, if you really feel guilty (or worried) about classes, bring along a textbook or two-- then you can at least study in the midst glorious solar rays, yeah?

Anyway, how long has it been since you went to a good beach, much less to the ocean? I don't know about you, but I would consider seeing big, crashing blue waves and smelling the refreshing aroma of salt-spray air to be something worth going out of your way for. :)

I say, if you can physically do it (with money and time and such) DO IT. Costa Rica?? You've got to be kidding me, girl!! I've missed the first week of school for the last three years, because of NBTSC, and it's never hindered me at all! And especially if you're with a group, you'll have people to lean on and hang with and such.

My 2 cents: GO! GOGOGOGOGO!!!!

It's the FIRST week of classes. If you can do it, go! It will make the rest of your term sooooooo much better.

Thank you, to you and to everyone else. This is a missions trip, by the way- not just sitting in the sun purely. ;)

I adore Central and South American culture, and I would love to go here. It's amazing, but this just sprung up unexpectedly.

I'm worried about cell biology, which I got into with special permission; I don't want to inslut the professor, nor become very far behind.

I'm pretty sure the Spanish teacher would excuse this. ;) LOL.

Thanks again!!! :)

P.S. I think, as of tonight, that I've decided to go! I'll go talk to the bio teacher tomorrow, and see what I can arrange. A passport is also a big deal, but I've gotten some info on that and it doesn't sound too hard. I've never needed a passport for any travel. I've been to Canada, but in the days before the borders were all blocked off with extra security measures. ;P

Oh, gawlly, I want to reply so badly to this but Nathan and I are just leaving for home, so I'll have to do it later! I have lots to say about the subject.

So, until then! ;)

OK, here I am! Looking back, it seems like I had absolutely oodles and schnoodles to say, but I think in the midst of my glee of hearing you talk about it, and panic from Nathan pulling me out the door and being on Thanksgiving break, I got carried away ( ... )
