Personality: The most obvious thing about Lighter is his borderline-obsession with MANLINESS. As far as Lighter is concerned, there is a very clear divide between genders and while he doesn't hate women or anything, he considers them to be delicate flowers who should stick to indoor activities and child-rearing, and men should be the ones to take care of heavy lifting and other dangerous activities for them. You know, severely outdated views. Of course, his time at SBG has proven those beliefs wrong time and time again, and in time they may very well topple completely

Backstory: As far as Lighter knows, he was born and raised around Tazmily. Where exactly, he's not sure. Probably the same wooden cabin out in the woods he lives in currently. He doesn't remember much about his childhood, nor does he think about it very often. In fact, most of the adults and elders of Tazmily have this same fuzzy memory. That's not suspicious at all.

So anyway, life on Nowhere Island was peaceful and happy. There was no war or tragedy beyond kids having disputes over toys or elders passing away due to old age now and then. Or, you know, wives passing away during childbirth due to the incredibly simplistic medical knowledge of the villagers. In losing his wife, Lighter gained a son, so that much kept him going. Raising a kid on one's own isn't too easy, but the other villagers were more than willing to help raise Fuel to be a happy and healthy boy.

For the next several years, life was uneventful. Then one night, the game started TRAGEDY STRUCK. There were loud noises in the forest and Lighter went out to

Flint completely flipped his shit and started attacking the other villagers. Not only did Lucas and Claus have to witness this, but Fuel was gathered around the bonfire at the time too so Lighter knocked him out and helped haul his ass to jail. Congratulations on being the first-ever guy arrested in Tazmily, Flint. So Lighter went to go sulk some more, knowing it wouldn't be long before Flint went on a crazy rampage to kill dragos to avenge his dead wife. Claus had already done so. Luckily, Flint stopped by beforehand and so Lighter gifted him with a MANLY BANDANA and lectured him on how he still has to be there for his kids, not that such a lecture was going to do any good. He knew Flint too well

Anyway, Lighter decided to head to this SBG place because Flint was there and he kind of owed Flint for saving Fuel's butt all those years ago. So he went to become a HANDYMAN. And experienced severe culture shock at all the talking chimeras turning into people and all the technology and what was even going on. The school seemed to get demolished even more often than his cabin at home, which kept him busy and useful and that was fantastic

Anything Else?: -He is slightly more knowledgeable about this whole Pokemon business than he was when he left the school. Only slightly, though.
-He still lugs a huge 4x4 wherever he goes. Never giving that up, ever.
-Still doesn't type with an accent, that would just be silly.
-The biggest freakouts will commence when he finds out Hinawa's alive. THE BIGGEST.

In-Character 1st person writing sample (journal): Hey. Been a while, huh? Bet I've missed out on a bunch of weird crap. Definitely don't regret that.

So I figure most everyone who was here when I left is still here. For you new guys, name's Lighter. I do repairs and teach wood shop. Don't try to blow stuff up too much. I bet Flint had a real hard time keeping on top of things without me around to do most of the work for him. Ha ha ha!
