Below is the women versus men's choice book meme, which I saw on secritcrush's LJ, and which I imagine has to do with this obviously flawed study, though in a way it says a lot about people's psychology, just not perhaps what it thought it was saying.

Hope your cough goes away soon. I have to say, whisky is probably not the thing to treat it with, since just breathing in near whisky when you haven't got a cough is usually enough to get one going ;-)

I find it works wonders with warm milk. 'Course, could just be the milk helping, but where's the fun in that? ;)

Lord Marbury : You know, there are some marvelous flu remedies known in the certain remote parts of the subcontinent. Licorice root, for instance, combined with bamboo sap and a strong shot of whiskey. Ginger root, also, mixed with, uh, citrus peel.

Bartlett : And a strong shot of whiskey?

Lord Marbury : Actually, you can leave everything out except the shot of whiskey.

Lord Marbury - known for his wise ways.

Anyway, I discovered it worked much better as a hot toddy. Mmmhmm.

Brandy/Whisky with Honey, Ginger and Lemon is just AWESOME. Plus it makes you all nice and sleepy...

Whisky? Ick. *shudder* Never been able to stand the stuff. I learnt to drink Guiness when I was small, courtesy my Dad, but he never managed to persuade me that whisky tasted anythign other than nasty.

It does. Tastes worse if you dilute it with water, but better with milk. Still think I'm more of martini/wine gal, though.
