Below is the women versus men's choice book meme, which I saw on secritcrush's LJ, and which I imagine has to do with this obviously flawed study, though in a way it says a lot about people's psychology, just not perhaps what it thought it was saying.

Bold are books I have read, and italics (my own little add-on) are books I have a serious intention to read one day, as opposed to a vague & casual "one of these days" thoughts, and the li'l asterisks are what I'm not sure if I've read or not. ;p

Women Chose:
Jane Eyre
Wuthering Heights
The Handmaid's Tale
Middlemarch
Pride and Prejudice
Beloved
The Golden Notebook*
Catch-22
Remembrance of Things Past
Persuasion
Frankenstein
Oranges are not the only fruit
One Hundred Years of Solitude
Mill on the Floss*
Little Women
Madam Bovary
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Gone with the Wind
Heart of Darkness*
To kill a Mockingbird

Men chose:
The Outsider
Catcher in the Rye
Slaughterhouse 5
One hundred years of solitude
The Hobbit
Catch-22
1984
The Great Gatsby
The book of laughter and forgetting
To Kill a Mockingbird
Lolita
Lord of the Rings
Crime and Punishment
Brighton Rock
High Fidelity
Ulysses
Huckleberry Finn
Heart of Darkness*
Metamorphosis

Don't think it really says anything about me, except I haven't read a lot of classic books.

A thought-provoking blog entry to do with privilege I saw via ktempest's LJ.

Deadly bird flu virus back in Scotland. Yay.

Also, much hope for and hugs directed towards some friends of mine, whom are not having the best of times.

EDIT: Trying whisky for the first time in a long time, to help with a bad cough, and I remember why it's been a long time since I had it. Not my thing.
