[recs] Harry Potter/Stargate Ficcing

Some wonderful, anonymous person has been slowly writting me Harry Potter/Stargate fic ever since the Valentine's Day Love Meme. It's so great! It's Harry/Luna, and Ron/Hermione, and Ginny's their semi-grouchy mechanic! She knows Muggle technology, which is so adorable. (Me and my daddy's girl thing love that ( Read more... )

Felt bad spamming that one girl's lj with fic. Hope you don't mind my putting part 2 here instead? Part 1 ended in that other thread.

Welcome back, btw.

Their first night back in London, Luna went for a walk alone. She covered her hair with a cloak and maintained a subtle notice-me-not spell around herself. She walked up and down Diagon Alley, noting the changes and forcing herself to see what was there now and not what had taken place beforeStill, rubble where Ollivander's once stood and the horribly heroic statue of the Trio in the new Peace Park hurt and conjured up flashes of light in her memory, a tangle of spells and palpable death. Luna breathed deeply, pushing the images back, and watched a young girl toss a stone into a hopscotch square. The girl hopped through and back, scooping up the stone as she did so and landing with both feet at the start. She then turned and tossed the stone in again. Luna sat on one of the benches and watched until the girl's father came to take her home ( ... )

Have I also mentioned you have a great handle on Luna? And she's not too Dru-like, which people tend to do in fic, and it BUGS me so much.

Thank you. :) Luna is one of my favorite characters; I dislike when people make her too ditzy or too serious.

Also, Dru-like? Who's Dru?

just a little fic bit to tide you over for the month, complete with an easter egg of a crossover.

Ginny stood at the far gate in front of the tumble-down house. The edges of the house blended with the darkness and so her childhood home loomed gigantic, impenetrable. Light shone from the kitchen window; Mum was up. Ginny's fingers gripped the wooden fencepost tightly and she rest her forehead on her hands. She could do this. She had to do this. She might not get another chance ( ... )

(to be perfectly honest, this was written to tide me over. Got the idea stuck in my head and couldn't do anything else until it was down on paper. Oh, if you're curious, Arthur was in his shed. He was going back to the house when he saw someone by the gate.)

Oh, I'm just so glad that you wrote this! For one, I'm kind of a daddy's girl, so I love seeing father-daughter relationships, and for another, I was pretty bummed at having to wait a whole month for more.

This whole series is just so wonderful. I'm really enjoying it, thank you!

Some men return to the site of their first encounter. Others prefer the location of their first date or favorite restaurant. Some will orchestrate something elaborate-- a fairytale evening or a long walk through old, familiar places.

Harry squirted some lemon juice into a bowl and began to paint a stripe around their hotel room. The ring sat inside its egg on top of the television set.

Luna would come back, smell the lemons, see the egg, and know. Then he would stop painting and ask and she would say yes.

Harry, still painting, glanced over to the door. He hoped she said yes.

Caldwell checked the list of items he was bringing to Atlantis once more, this time making additional notations of who was receiving each. This would make distributing the packages easier, but doing so also ensured that Stephen knew where all the good items in Atlantis were. They were to be with Atlantis for a month this time and he wanted to know who had the good coffee and new dvds that they might be willing to share, or lose in a bet.

"Colonel Caldwell?" Stephen looked up from the inventory.

"What is that?" he asked, even though he had a rather good idea. The boxy shape could only be one sort of transport he knew of, but that was impossible. "Have they tried to contact us yet ( ... )

one of those sticky inbetween scenes, happy mom's day btw anonymous May 13 2007, 21:54:39 UTC
"Sir, what do we do?"

Caldwell leaned back in his chair. "Direct them to the loading bay. I want the area secured. If this is a new enemy, I want to be prepared. Have Hermiod ready to beam them into the brig if they start trouble."

"Yes, sir."

Harry flew the ship around to the side as instructed. "Do you see-- oh, nevermind." The bay was open and waiting. "Er, right. So we just fly in and stop?"

Caldwell stopped when he heard that transmission and took a deep breath. "You don't know how to land the jumper?"

"This is the first time we've taken the, er, 'Jumper' into space," Ginny explained.

The techie glanced back at Caldwell who just shook his head. "All right, find out how many are on board and have Hermiod beam them directly to the brig. Marines should report there instead."

"What are we supposed to do with them? We can't take them back to Earth, even if they weren't a security risk."

"I guess we'll be bringing Dr. Weir some gifts."

so not what i'm supposed to be writing right now.... anonymous June 30 2007, 18:26:45 UTC
Miko waited near the landing area for the Daedalus to descend. Doctor McKay had requisitioned 'very delicate equipment' that he 'certainly cannot trust to those oafs who unload the cargo.' He had been poised for a full-on rant and so Miko had offered to oversee the unloading for him and ensure all the equipment was brought back to him safe and whole. If her offer did not stop Doctor McKay's rant, it at least allowed her to escape ( ... )

"They don't know what to do with us," Luna observed with a small smile. Caldwell had called for some others to meet him down at the Daedalus, refusing to cave when the person on the other end of his radio apparently resisted. Soon after a tall woman with a questioning brow and spread hands entered the room flanked by two men dressed in black, their guns at the ready ( ... )

Have I mentioned how completely you rule? This is just an absolutely wonderful fic so far, and I wouldn't have minded if it hadn't followed HBP (which I have also read).

Thank you again for writing this and continuing to post it! I love every piece of it.

The story is finally over. I could have spun it out longer, but decided that an ending was preferable to none.

I may post an epilogue, but it won't be put here.
