I thought I'd asked a fairly straightforward question. So far, the only people I'm aware of claiming Paddock as an Islamic convert is Islamic State. Since they're pretty much the epitome of an untrustworthy source, I wondered whether you might have another.

Thing is, they've never been found to be uninvolved in anything they claimed to be involved with.

What they lie about is Islam itself.

I don't think he was an ISIS supporter. It will probably turn out that he had A) a tumor or B) was on the same class of psyche meds that a number of the other shooters were on. Though C) excessive gambling debt with no fucks to give isn't out of the question. I'd place solid money on some version of B though.

Yes. Charles Whitman in the UTA tower. He had a tumor. He went through a 6-9 month decline and went to doctors. The only reason they checked was because his diary said "Hey I think I have a tumor. Please check after I'm dead."

Most of the time, though, these all turn out to be mentally ill people who have bought hardcore into a stringent patriarchal value system. This is a pretty much every mass killer or spree killer, including terrorists. The reason I think it's probably different, in this case, is that there's no history of violence, being a perpetual loser, or ideological nuttiness.

But, who knows? This is just tragic.

I am 57, and as the years pass I note a progressive [Progressive} tendency to "diagnose" various natural phenomena as disorders.

Examples:
ADHD for Incompetent teachers are boring.
Asperger's Syndrome for Undoublethinkful.
Patriarchal for Regarding success as competence.
Mentally Ill for Evil.

There has never been the slightest evidence, for instance, that Whitman's tumor made him pull the trigger.
