There was still snow on the ground today. :) There is supposedly a 70% chance of more, and though I don't see anything falling yet, it is getting more and more gray out. Yay snow

You know, I look at labor pain about the same way. Everyone experiences it so differently, so you can't judge by what anyone else tells you it's like, so at this point I'm very much at the point of thinking it's just going to be whatever it's going to be. I'm more curious about it than anxious. I think Jake's more nervous than I am, to be honest ;-)
Heh. :) Luckily, from all the birth stories I've read, the pain is almost always manageable (or nonexistent!), as long as you go in well-educated and with some good coping strategies. Even if you just sit there instead of using them... :) For me, it was completely painless for nine hours, then kind of an escalation for five hours or so with things getting pretty intense at the end, but still not as bad as migraines. :P And the migraines I used to get aren't even that bad, to hear other people talk, so I'm pretty happy with it. :) Even my strongest contractions didn't hurt as much individually as, say, stubbing your toe.
Yep. It's just like getting a shot - the more freaked out you are about it, the more it's gonna hurt. It's encouraging to hear experienced women talk about it. My MIL said her contractions were about as bad as her cramps (she has endometriosis too, so I could relate to this). Then again, she got an epidural both times - not sure why, but oh well. I figure if it's about menstrual cramp level, I'm definitely good to go. I think also not enough women remember that it's not a "Hey you did something wrong!" pain, like putting your hand on a stove. It's normal and not bad. I think that's why a lot of women panic. They assume they're experiencing an unusual level of pain when it really starts to hurt. Then again, I could be totally talking out of my ass seeing as I haven't done this yet :-D

Lots of people say it's just like cramps. Mine were a bit stronger than that, but then I usually don't have cramps, either. :)
