Additional fannishness

In squeeful fannish news: Vallista has a publication date! September according to Brust, Amazon has mid-October, but either way, it's a real book really coming out this year, woo! (And the Paarfi book, "The Baron of Magister Valley" is still under submission. Which is less squeeful, but at least I now know the full title. Is that... a Count of ( Read more... )

Chloe the cat is my favorite (L's, too)
Wheeee! :)))

not as dumb as I thought it might be
But dumber than I thought it might be, which means we went with entirely different expectations... Zootopia and Inside Out spoiled me, I guess. :)

The whole thing with Snowball was more grating that funny to me
Argh, so very much this. Excuse me, I need to search for some comfort reading now. Recipes for rabbit stew might do...

Sweetpea eating birdseed off the bald scalp of his hardcore owner was adorable
Also my favorite, I had a total meltdown. :D

Yeah, it definitely did not live up to Zootopia and Inside Out, but I'd seen the trailer for it, which was for the most part the party at Leonard's (the headbanging poodle), and it was less dumb than the trailer implied. :)

Recipes for rabbit stew might do...Haha! I will say, though, L liked the rabbit, second-best after Chloe. He's apparently voiced by an actor/comedian she likes, and she found it funny that (to quote her) "a small angry man" was playing a small, angry rabbit. Both both B and I were definitely not fans ( ... )

Ah yes, that's forgivable then, even if I'm in team with you and B. XD

I liked her character, and her lines, and I liked how catlike she was (one of L's favorite moments was when they're following Pops through the city and enter the window of this guy's apartment where he is sleeping on the couch -- and everybody tiptoes by, and she just walks on the sleeping guy, stepping on vital organs).
Also how she reminds them they saved Sweetpea from some feline, and dismissing as totally irrelevant that said feline happened to be her. :) And how she sits in a box too small for her.

Aw, I must've missed the box part, but I loved the "the identity of the random cat is not important" line :D

So I'm assuming you probably have to work Friday but my dad just informed me that, contrary to previous info I was given, despite being on a bumfuckearly flight to SF, I'm not really needed until dinner. By the time I pick up luggage and take a shuttle or something (my dad had previously said he'd pick me up then promptly forgot so I have to check on shuttles) to the hotel (we're staying in a hotel Fri night) to have them hold my bags (check in isn't until 4pm) and then I'm free until 5pm or so (probably a bit earlier). I was going to maybe walk to Musee Mechanique and (depending on my legs lol) maybe walk to the Exploratorium (I went there on our one and only family vacation when I was 5 and I've never gotten to go back). But I know Friday is the most inconvenient day, but if it does work out, I'd like to meet up with you again!

Ooh, yay, that's an awesome development that I hope we can take advantage of ( ... )

w00t!! I hope it works out! My plane arrives at 8:20am but I'll have to get bags. Shuttle will probably be better because...I'll be carrying heavy stuff (my laptop, a laptop I was borrowing from my dad and he wants back, possibly textbooks because school, etc). I have to check out shuttles (I was going to do that after I commented but....distractions lol). The hotel (where the wedding party and family is staying and I am not paying so it's nice lol) is the Standford Court in Nob Hill *does swanky sashay* across from the Fairmont *sashays some more*. I just google mapped how far that is from you and...it's far. Even an Uber might be a while (and expensive? I've never actually used one) since I imagine Friday on a holiday weekend will be worse traffic than usual. Hmm....

DC just doesn't know how to do movies :/

Apparently! Which is rather odd.

O claims their TV shows are good, but I haven't seen any of those.

I really enjoy Gotham, which is DC based show, it's really dark and well-written, but I haven't seen any of their others

I'm not sure if O watched their Gotham. He knows a lot about it, for sure, but I dunno if that was from watching or just reading about it... His favorite is Flash, but of course a 13-year-old boy's standard for a good TV show is different than a grown-up's :P

I've heard so many bad things about Suicide Squad, that I have no desire to watch it...haha

I really liked The Secret Life of Pets as well! :) And shared a lot of the same thoughts about the animals :)

Yeah, you're not missing much with Suicide Squad, IMO :P

And yay for shared impressions and enjoyment of The Secret Life of Pets! :)
