I actually saw "Threads" on Youtube.
I found it even more depressing since the long-term effects are spelled out (not much recovery even after 13 years).

The video game championships are a HUGE deal in South Korea -- I watched some when I was in Seoul. Thse guys have huge fan followings and hair to match...it's a little scary.

Yeah, I kind of stopped watching G4 when they got rid of Call for Help and they turnd the other tech help show into (basically) TRL Live. Though I will watch X-Play and catch the late night machinima shows they sometimes have.

The most recent Penny Arcade strip mentions a new trend in video games of the massive multiplayer ones adding something called "achievements". Mmm, irony. Woot, here's a gold star sticker for your forehead for having collected 5,000 macguffins... instead of,oh I dunno, GOING FOR A WALK, drawing something, painting something, dancing, etc.
