a/n: baw, I feel like there's no sensible way to break up the parts of this story, so I apologize if it seems like nothing happens here. The next part will be rated R, but beyond that idk how to properly rate a story... just be aware if you are offended by racy things~ PS. Kyuhyun does bathe in this part but no I do not describe it in detail, sorry :)

An hour later Sungmin was startled awake by the sound of whimpering. Her head snapped around and she rolled back to look at Heechul, who'd fallen asleep not long after finishing her pudding cup, to see her shivering and sniffling, body curled up and squirming slightly.

"Hee?" She whispered, but got no response. Pushing herself up and out from under the blankets they'd pulled off of Heechul's bed, she crawled closer and hovered over her friend, brushing her hair out of her eyes. Tears were leaking out the corners even when they were pinched shut so tight, and Sungmin bit her lip, shaking her friend as gently as possible.

"Heechul-ah? Hee, wake up," she said, shaking a bit harder. When Heechul didn't respond, just continued to whimper and clutch at her stomach, Sungmin muttered an uncharacteristic 'shit' and looked around the room, trying to decide what to do. Heechul started crying harder, her body curling into an impossibly tight ball, and Sungmin felt her own tears burning at the back of her eyes when Heechul still wouldn't respond to her name or shaking.

"Shit, shit, shit," Sungmin cursed, jumping up and running out of the room to find where she'd dropped her purse on the way in. But she stopped suddenly when she saw a dim light coming from under the bedroom door down the hall and made the quick decision to get help. Heechul had a younger brother, she remembered. Not that she'd ever met him or even seen his face. Heechul had called him a geek and said he spent all his time gaming in his room. Regardless, she would probably need his help if Heechul needed to be taken to the emergency room.

Sungmin's well-bred modesty and respect forced her to knock rather quietly on the bedroom door, and when no answer was forthcoming, just a bit harder, then harder, until she grew impatient and fought with her own instincts. It was disrespectful to enter a room uninvited at someone else's house, even if it was her best friend's, and especially when it was a teenage boy's room, but she didn't want to try moving Heechul on her own. Exasperated and against her better judgment, she turned the knob and pushed open the door, mouth open to ask for help.

Across the room, slumped against the headboard of a messy bed, was a boy with soft brown hair as disheveled as his bed sheets, and shadows under his eyes that had snapped to her attentively when she opened the door. Sungmin felt choked up and hadn't the slightest clue as to why, other than obviously he was cute, if in a teenaged, definitely-younger-than-her sort of way - but now was not the time. The boy seemed just as dumbfounded about something before they both seemed to come to their senses at the same time. The boy yanked a pair of headphones off his ears suddenly and jumped back against the headboard with a dull thump, yanking his sheets modestly up against his already covered chest while his legs juggled his laptop dangerously.

"Who the hell are you?" The boy asked suspiciously, his pale fingers gripping tightly at his bed sheet. A ghost of a smirk flashed on Sungmin's face - had she caught him watching porn? - before she remembered her purpose. She let go of the door knob and bowed respectfully, albeit quickly, before hurriedly explaining.

"I'm sorry for coming into your room, ah... um... Heechul-ah's little brother," she bubbled out nervously. "I knocked but- ah, I'm Sungmin, Heechul-ah's friend. But I need your help - Heechul-ah - she's sick, something's wrong with her," she choked out, her eyes burning again as she thought of Heechul crying on the floor in her room. "I think she needs to go to the emergency room," she explained shakily, rubbing her hands nervously down her sides as she watched the boy shove his laptop off his legs and stumble clumsily out of bed.

His white v-neck t-shirt and cropped black pants were rumpled and twisted on his body but he didn't pay it any mind, just came running and Sungmin turned quickly to follow him down the hall.

The boy banged into the door frame of Heechul's bedroom and stared wide-eyed for a moment at Heechul, who Sungmin saw was still curled up on the floor, crying and shaking. She pushed her way past him and fell to her knees beside Heechul, brushing her hair out of her face and looking up at the boy.

"She didn't drink much tonight, she was only a little bit tipsy when we got home," she explained, watching him kneel down beside her and put the back of his hand against Heechul's sweating forehead. "We don't accept drinks from people, not even unopened bottles, so n-nothing should've-" Sungmin stuttered, unable to see through the fog of her tears as Heechul groaned and clutched her stomach. Sungmin bit her lip so hard she thought she might draw blood, and hurriedly wiped at her eyes as the boy slid his arms under Heechul, one behind her back, the other behind her knees. Sungmin could see that he was intending to pick her up, and quickly moved to the other side of Heechul's body to help, and together they lifted her off the floor.

"Help me take her to the bathroom," the boy grunted, and Sungmin did as she was told, noting his flushed face and the tension in his neck. It didn't look like he could have carried her on his own, but he still would have tried.

In the bathroom Kyuhyun directed Sungmin to help him carefully set Heechul down before the toilet, and asked her to get some washcloths from the cabinet and run them under a cold tap. He kept a steady hand on his sister's shoulder while he reached out with a long arm and dug around in a drawer at the sink for one of Heechul's hair bands. He pulled her long blond hair off her neck and tied it up on her head, taking a cool cloth from Sungmin's shaking hand and began wiping at her sweat-soaked skin.

"I've seen her act like this before," he explained, voice a bit unsteady but he felt a little less worried now that he'd seen Heechul for himself. When a strange girl - a particularly attractive one at that, dressed in tiny shorts and an even smaller tank top - had burst suddenly into his room and instead of seducing him had told him his sister needed to go to the emergency room, he'd been terrified. But since it was vaguely familiar, he had better hope that the situation was not so severe. "She got sick like this three months ago," he said, taking one of Sungmin's shaking hands and placing it under his on the cloth, sliding it along Heechul's skin to show her what to do, before he pulled his hand away and stood up.

"The power went out because of a storm, and my laptop battery was dead so I couldn't game," Kyuhyun continued while filling a cup with cold tap water. "Heechul and I played Monopoly and drank together because mum was gone. She shotgunned this one kind of beer... I don't remember what it's called, but she got sick like this right before I was going to win. I thought she was faking, you know how she is," he said with a smile and kneeled down beside them in front of the toilet. He saw Sungmin break a smile through her tears, then bite her lip when Heechul's sobbing dulled to whimpers, her face still scrunched in pain. "But she ended up throwing up like ten minutes later... and then she slept for a whole day," he muttered, bringing the glass of water to Heechul's shaking lips.

Sungmin tipped Heechul's head back slightly to help and Kyuhyun poured a bit of water into her mouth, pursing his lips until he saw his sister's throat roughly swallow.

"I think it was mostly the hangover," Kyuhyun added as an afterthought, taking one of the other cold cloths and trading it out. Even though the initial adrenaline rush from fear had begun to wear off, he felt a tremor in his hand when it brushed Sungmin's softer, tanner skin. He wondered if this was punishment from the gaming gods for abandoning his character in the middle of a raid; after all these years of acting indifferent and uninterested in girls, they finally gave his lazy ass a really smoking hot girl but only when there were more pressing matters at hand. He took a moment to mentally pat himself on the back for remembering to shower earlier that evening, though. What were the chances, really?

Kyuhyun turned to Sungmin, noting the watery glimmer of her dark brown eyes, feeling his chest constrict when she turned to look at him. He smiled crookedly at her, sheepishly, and then smirked cockily when she blushed prettily and turned back to Heechul.

"She's gonna be sick," Kyuhyun told her, and Sungmin looked back at him again, eyes widening. "You don't have to stick around if you don't want. It'll be really gross," he explained, sitting up higher on his knees behind his sister, preparing to support her when he felt her chest heaving harder.

Sungmin didn't say anything, just pursed her lips - such full, pretty lips, Kyuhyun thought perversely - and pushed herself up too, her bare shoulder brushing Kyuhyun's through his t-shirt. Kyuhyun smirked again.

"You'll regret it," he warned, and then Heechul was throwing up into the toilet, with her brother and best friend holding her steady as she emptied the contents of her stomach and her body cleansed her of the bad beer.

Kyuhyun and Sungmin carried Heechul back to her room after she finally stopped dry heaving and they'd cleaned her up. Kyuhyun had even held her neck and leaned her gently back over the bathtub so Sungmin could wash her hair and cool off her scalp. When they'd laid her down on her bed, Kyuhyun huffed and hunched over, bracing himself on his knees.

"Gosh, she's fat," he muttered, standing up crookedly and rubbing his sore back.

He heard Sungmin laugh and looked through heavy-lidded eyes to see her covering her mouth with her palm. Why, why are you hiding those lips from me, he whined internally.

"Maybe you're just weak," she teased, and Kyuhyun watched curiously as she suddenly stiffened, staring down at Heechul. She didn't appear to actually be looking at Heechul, but rather like she was remembering something, and Kyuhyun cocked his head to the side when Sungmin glanced over to him again.

Kyuhyun didn't bother to defend his honor. It was obvious that he was skinny and that the most exercise he got was punching his mattress angrily when he lost a level. Instead of boast about his non-existent musculature, he was content to stare at Sungmin as long as she was staring at him, even if it looked like some sort of awful truth was dawning in her eyes. Her full lips parted and a small sound escaped. It was soft and breathy like a sigh, but Kyuhyun thought she sounded surprised about something.

"Are you okay?" He asked, stepping forward with concern furrowing his brows. Sungmin flinched backward slightly, and Kyuhyun's eyes diverted to watch her full chest heave with slightly labored breaths before realizing he was staring, and he looked back at her with wide eyes that mirrored her own. "Sorry," he muttered, grabbing the back of his neck and looking down at Heechul, who had rolled onto her side and was breathing deeply by now.

After a moment of strained silence, Sungmin's voice finally sounded.

"Will you sit with her for a bit? I want to clean up," she murmured, eyes downcast when Kyuhyun looked back up at her.

"Yeah," he replied just as quietly, watching as she slipped out of the room. Kyuhyun heaved a sigh and dropped weakly onto Heechul's bed, burying his face in his hands, muttering to himself that he was a total loser.
