Somes times I hate sewing. I just threw my kirtle against the wall. If this is done by Coronet it will be a freakin miracle.

I think it is bed time.

Okay, so I know most of you are all about the early period garb, however, there's a couple of you late period folks out there, so maybe you could help me out. I want a 1620s/1630s/1640s (I have yet to decide exactly when...) French dress. I obviously need to do more research first! Anyone know of any good books that I can seek out to start off?

IT IS DONE!!! I was gonna wait until Crown to show people, but I can't because I am SO excited it is done!!!  However now that it is done I am actually thinking I might add more to it. Thinking of putitng some blanket stitch in white around the cuffs, hem and around the collar and down the edge of the front. What do you guys think?

So first off, a bit of bad news. Yesterday I went to fight practice. I wasn't intending to fight because the side of my face is still too tender to wear the fencing mask, but I went anyways 'cause it's sort of like a social event. First of all I started my retail job, and I must say I absolutely HATE it. My boss is a complete bitch. She is never satisfied with anyone and the amount of work they are doing. Okay so I am still thinking about this kirtle idea for fencing. I think I'm gonna try making one unboned, but give it a really stiff interlining. I also think I am going to make it side lacing with the idea that I could wear an open coat over it if I ever just wanted to wear it as garb. With side lacing ( Read more... )

So Spring Champions is now past, and we have a new Arts & Sciences Champion, Romana. Her entries were pretty cool (A period Myrgan Wood banner, a some silver loop jewelry and this yummy apple stuff) and well deserved.
