*nods* Lucas listens and see, too.

I just watched this episode on TNT the other day. I so miss the early days of Show.

I miss them too-- I haven't enjoyed where things went after S2, and really wish we weren't heading for showdown Kripke has planned this season.

I really liked "Dead in the Water," for so many reasons. I liked Lucas' mother calmly shooting Dean down, the way he so often deserves. I loved Dean's rapport with Lucas, and I really wish the show had done more with that idea in later episodes. Dean pretty much raised Sam, and the idea that he understands kids makes a lot of sense to me. Lucas brought out one of Dean's better sides, and we usually only see that in relation to his own family.

Lovely. "Dead in the Water" is one of my favorite eps, cause of Dean and Lucas. Loved this look into Lucas' head.

One of my favorites too, for exactly the same reason. Both for the insight into Dean, and for how he helped heal Lucas simply be reaching out to him without pushing.

And there's also your icon, and what a powerful moment that was!

One of my favourite episodes. And that scene was one where I begun to glimpse the other side of Dean. I love Lucas's POV that you did here :)

Me too-- which is part of why it's one of my favorites too.

Prior to this, we mostly saw the asshole/bravado side of Dean. With this episode, we saw a little of the softer (more real) side of him, not to mention what his role in Sam's life had been (opening up whole new ideas regarding both characters).

And we saw how he managed to help transform a little boy and "save" him in a way apart from the Supernatural issue, which was huge.
